Porous alumina templates have been fabricated by applying an exponential voltage decrease at the end of anodization process. The time constant η function has used to control average thickness and distribution barrier layer bottom pores structure. Depending on value, can be made very uniform or highly scattered, which allows us subsequently fine tune electrodeposition yield nickel nanoparticles/nanowires low voltage. As illustration, pore filling percentage with Ni varied, in a totally...
Confined lateral alumina templates are fabricated with different pore sizes by changing the acid electrolyte and anodization voltage. The control of number rows down to one dimension is also achieved, controlling thickness starting aluminum film as well We observe that mechanism formation in regime very similar classical vertical situation.
The effects of an atomic hydrogen ( H at ) pretreatment the catalyst layer on low temperature growth single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) have been investigated using a modified catalytic chemical vapor deposition system. Well-defined and isolated individual Fe nanoparticles as are successfully formed defects with high trapping energy which created Al 2 O 3 surface by pretreatment, yielding highly dense SWCNTs. mechanism , compared to is also discussed. It was found that quality SWCNTs...
Abstract— Carbon nanotubes and semiconductor nanowires are a new class of materials currently being studied within the context molecular electronics. Because their excellent characteristics, transistors based on carbon could become workhorse post‐CMOS era. Since as well Si or Ge can be grown at low temperature, using similar CVD‐type processes non‐crystalline non‐refractory substrates, they (and will) certainly used in near future for fabrication thin‐film active‐matrix backplanes. However,...

We present some early results on the controlled growth of carbon nanotubes inside lateral porous alumina templates. Such templates provide an easy way organizing nano-objects in plane their supporting substrate, with potential densities more than 100/μm, thus paving for realization dense circuits. Here we discuss conditions pores templates, aim avoiding parasitic deposition amorphous carbon. Our organization method should also apply to other nanostructures such as semiconductor nanowires.
We present some of our first experiments on the controlled growth silicon nanowires and carbon nanotubes in lateral porous alumina templates synthesized by anodic oxidation Al thin films. Under adapted chemical vapor deposition conditions, using vapor-solid-liquid mechanism, pores membranes can be partially filled with or nanotubes, yielding a composite film parallel-organized nano-objects. Such films further tailored shaped classical microelectronic-type tools processes, order to fabricate...
