A new species of Platybaetis viz., P. selvai sp. nov. is described herein based on larval collections from Tangon stream in the state Arunachal Pradesh Eastern region Indian Himalaya. It can be differentiated by following combination characters: (i) posterior margin abdominal segments IX with rounded 'U shaped spines; (ii) anterolateral gills IVII minute setae; (iii) claw 78 denticles; (iv) paracercus composed 1011 segments; (v) hindwing pads reduced, small. Brief ecological notes are appended.

As part of ongoing exploration the mayflies streams and rivers Indian Himalayan regions, we describe two new species genus Tenuibaetis based on recently collected materials from Western Himalaya viz., himani Kubendran, Vasanth & Subramanian sp. nov. kangi Additionally, records Eastern T. arduus (Kang Yang, 1994) inornatus are presented.
