The penetration of light in biological tissues can be enhanced by using optical-clearing techniques. However, researches on the mechanism are limited to vitro experiments. In this study, rat dorsal skin was used discuss for vivo optical clearing. Glycerol solutions with different concentrations were applied dermal injection; then reflectance spectrum, SHG imaging and microstructural changes monitored. results showed that becoming transparent, corresponding decreased, thickness dermis...
Rose bengal (RB) is a halogenated xanthene dye that has been used to mediate antimicrobial photodynamic inactivation for several years. While RB highly active against Gram-positive bacteria, it largely inactive in killing Gram-negative bacteria. We have discovered addition of the nontoxic salt potassium iodide (100 mM) potentiates green light (540-nm)-mediated by up 6 extra logs with bacteria Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, bacterium methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus,...
Abstract Ultraviolet radiation is markedly increased because of pollution and the depletion stratospheric ozone layer. Excessive exposure to sunlight can negatively affect skin, resulting in sunburn, photo-aging, or skin cancer. In this study, we first determined photoprotective effect sanshool, a major component Zanthoxylum bungeanum , on UVB-irradiated responses human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) nude mouse. We found that sanshool treatment protect cells against effects UVB irradiation by (i)...
Noninvasive detection of skin microcirculation is very significant for clinical diagnosis and therapy peripheral vascular disease. In this study, an optical clearing method enables a laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI) technique to image dermal blood flow through intact rat skin. The effect in vitro caused by mixture PEG-400 Thiazone evaluated commercially available spectrophotometer with integrating sphere. A LSCI system applied the vivo after topical treatment agents. results...
The strong optical scattering of skin tissue makes it very difficult for coherence tomography (OCT) to achieve deep imaging in skin. Significant clearing vivo rat sites was achieved within 15 min by topical application an agent PEG-400, a chemical enhancer (thiazone or propanediol), and physical massage. Only when all three components were applied together could treatment fold increase the OCT reflectance from 300 μm depth 31% enhancement image Z(threshold).
Dehydration induced by optical clearing agents (OCAs) can improve tissue transmittance; however, current studies merely gave some qualitative descriptions. We develop a model to quantitatively evaluate water content with partial least-squares method based on the measurements of near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy and weight porcine skin. Furthermore, commercial spectrometer an integrating sphere is used measure transmittance skin after treatment different OCAs, then properties sample are...
Abstract Bio-responsive polymers are the foundation for construction of smart systems that exhibit designed biomedical functions after receiving specific stimuli such as biological signals and pathological abnormalities. These stimulus-responsive have shown great promise developing novel products in precision medicine, relevant research has grown intensively recent years. This review aims to outline basic knowledge progress advanced bio-responsive well major challenges. The current mainly...
Abstract Acne vulgaris is a prevalent cutaneous disease characterized by multifactorial pathogenic process including hyperseborrhea, inflammation, over‐keratinization of follicular keratinocytes and Propionibacterium acnes ( P ) overgrowth. Salicylic acid SA ), beta‐hydroxy acid, frequently used in the treatment acne. has been found to decrease skin lipids possess anti‐inflammatory properties. However, few studies have elucidated mechanisms pathways involved such In this study, we initially...
The optical clearing technique has shown great potential in improving light penetration into biotissues. Among various agents (OCAs) under study, the hydroxyl-terminated induce highest effect of skin, but exact mechanism is still unclear. In consideration several probable factors, such as number hydroxyl groups, refractive index, and molecular weight, we investigate porcine skin after applying six alcohols to epidermis saline dermis. dynamical transmission intensity monitored by an...
Abstract Background Apple ( Malus domestica Borkh.) is a popular cultivated fruit crop with high economic value in China. floral transition an important process but liable to be affected by various environmental factors. The 14–3-3 proteins are involved regulating diverse biological processes plants, and some members play vital roles flowering. However, little information was available about the apple. Results In current study, we identified eighteen gene family from apple genome database,...
