Abstract The number of cannabis users increased up to 188 million worldwide in 2017. Smoking and vaping are the most common consumption routes with formation side-stream smoke/vapor secondhand exposure cannabinoids has been described literature. External contamination hair by smoke studied but there no studies on third-hand due deposition or vapor surfaces. We tested whether could be detected surfaces objects a room where is vaporized. Surface samples were collected using isopropanol imbued...

ABSTRACT

Background:
Recent studies support the need for sagittal alignment restoration when performing lumbar degenerative spinal fusions. The development of patient-specific spine rods (PSSRs) may help maintain or improve in these surgeries.
Methods:
A retrospective review was conducted patients who underwent posterior surgeries involving 4 less levels. preplanned PSSR radii curvature (ROC) compared with standard prebent a ROC 125 mm. All were performed at single...

ABSTRACT

Background:
Current evidence suggests placement of the Superion interspinous spacer (SISS) device compared with laminectomy or laminotomy surgery offers an effective, less invasive treatment option for patients symptomatic lumbar spinal stenosis. Both SISS and have risks complications a direct comparison between 2 procedures has not been previously studied. The purpose this study is to compare short-term highlight device-specific long-term outcomes SISS....

Idiopathic scoliosis (IS) is a three-dimensional rotation of the spine >10 degrees with an unknown etiology. Our laboratory established late-onset IS model in zebrafish (Danio rerio) containing deletion kif7. A total 25% kif7co63/co63 develop spinal curvatures and are otherwise developmentally normal, although molecular mechanisms underlying unknown. To define transcripts associated this model, we performed bulk mRNA sequencing on 6 weeks past fertilization (wpf) without scoliosis....

This report details the cases of 2 older male patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) who presented lumbar spinal stenosis at a single residual mobile segment and were treated decompression without fusion. Both severe symptoms in their lower limbs opted to proceed surgery. With autofusion above below single, stable segment, fusion was safe effective procedure. A Coflex device implanted 1 patient. After successful surgery, both experienced significantly decreased symptoms.
