Serological screening of the population during an outbreak visceral leishmaniasis (VL) in Emilia-Romagna region (Northern Italy) 1971–1972 showed 6 individuals to have high titres complement fixing antibody BCG antigen, multiple hepatic epithehoid granulomata (with presence intracellular leishmania one) and subsequent reaction leishmanin. All were asymptomatic with exception one whom there was slight splenic enlargement.
ABSTRACT Increasing lignocellulosic feedstock for advanced biofuels can tackle the decarbonization of transport sector. Dedicated biomass produced alongside food systems with low indirect land use change (iLUC) impact broaden availability, thus streamlining supply chains. The objective this study was design and evaluation ethanol value chains Emilia‐Romagna region based on iLUC feedstock. Two dedicated crops (biomass sorghum sunn hemp) were evaluated in double cropping crop residues (corn...
Sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea L.) is a fast growing, drought tolerant legume crop with potential as biomass feedstock for advanced biofuels in Southern Europe, grown either single or double system. This study presents new simulation model, SunnGro, which reproduces sunn productivity, while providing detailed description of leaf/branch size heterogeneity and its evolution during the vegetative season. The model was calibrated validated using 20 field datasets collected from 2016 to 2018...
Abstract Integrated food and bioenergy production is a promising way to ensure regional/national energy security, efficient use of soil resources, enhanced biodiversity, while contributing the abatement CO 2 emissions. The objective this study was assess alternative crop rotation schemes as basis for integrating enhancing sustainable biomass within food‐energy agricultural context. Sunn hemp ( Crotalaria spp.) in with wheat Triticum EU sugarcane Saccharum Brazil were evaluated. did not...
Abstract In the context of increased pressures on land for food and non‐food production, it is relevant to understand better, which resources have become unused abandoned where these lands are. Data are what their extend not collected in regular statistics. this paper, we present an approach detect signs abandonment cropping using radar coherence data. The methodology was tested Spanish regions Albacete Soria agricultural a common process. results show that detection data works well region...
Studies at the root level and how root-shoot interactions may influence whole crop performance of giant reed (Arundo donax L.) under limited water conditions are largely missing. In present study, we illustrate effects stress on some phenotypic traits levels two genotypes (from Morocco Northern Italy) that were reported to have different adaptive hydraulic stem conductivities despite genetic variability species. The trial was carried out in 1 m3 rhizotrons (1 × m) for consecutive growing...
The relay-cropping (R) of a winter cereal and high biomass yielding legume for advanced biofuel production can enlarge the growing season, thus increase its yield synchronize nitrogen (N2)-fixation capacity to uptake. aim present study was evaluate food two sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea L.; cv. Ecofix) – wheat (Triticum aestivum Bologna) systems compared double-cropping, in order explore impact on grain variable crops overlapping periods. evaluated foreseen an early November sowing into no...
