Abstract Background The most common surgery for non-small cell lung cancer is lobectomy, which can be performed through either thoracotomy or video-assisted thoracic (VATS). Insufficient research has examined respiratory muscle function and exercise capacity in lobectomy using conventional (CT), muscle-sparing (MST), VATS. This study aimed to assess compare strength, diaphragm thickness, CT, MST, Methods primary outcomes were changes capacity. Maximal inspiratory pressure (MIP) maximal...

Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), which occurs due to impartial resolution of the thrombus, is a rare type hypertension. However, most patients have an excellent long-term survival following thromboendarterectomy (PTE). Pulmonary emboli and associated CTEPH unusual in pediatric population mostly reveals underlying thrombophilic state. PTE also recognized as best therapeutic option this subgroup patients. In case series, we report three young who had successfully undergone CTEPH.

Epicardial cysts originating directly from the epicardium are seen very rarely. Complete surgical excision is recommended when these detected. If compress surrounding vital structures, cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) should also be considered. We report herein 2 cases of multiloculated epicardial cysts, both which were successfully excised, 1 with CPB.

Methods: A total 40 children with disease (17 males, 23 females; mean age: 39.6±40.0 months; range, 2 216 months) who underwent open-heart surgery were included. Cardiac hydatid cyst is known to be a rarely occurring disease. The appearance of large cysts in the interventricular septum childhood even more rare. Although such are usually asymptomatic, they can behave like valvular disorders, depending on their location. In addition, cardiac originating from carry risk rupturing into both ventricular cavities, which may lead fatal complications. Thus, early surgical treatment extreme importance. We describe case 7-year-old girl with that originated septum.
