In a retrospective study of 14 cases duodenal neoplasms evaluated by computed tomography (CT), there were four primary adenocarcinomas the duodenum, one lymphoma, five metastatic carcinomas, two lipomas, villous adenoma, and leiomyoma. The CT findings diagnostic in patients with lipomas. 11 cases, origin mass was clearly identifiable duodenum. Thickening bowel wall, tumor necrosis, ulceration, intraluminal defects common. relationship masses to adjacent structures shown on scans....
This is the third reported case of a posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) aneurysm presenting as intractable hiccups (IH). A previously healthy 29-year-old woman was admitted with 2-week history occurring >100 times per minute. Symptoms persisted despite numerous noninvasive therapies. Magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic angiogram brain showed left PICA that confirmed by catheter angiography. resolved following suboccipital craniotomy resection. Although rare, potentially curable cause IH.
Perineural tumor growth involves tumors infiltrating local nerves, either through perineural invasion or spread (PNS). Knowledge of cranial nerves and skull base anatomy is essential for identifying affected nerve pathways. Various cancers like squamous cell carcinoma, adenoid cystic lymphoma, among others, can progress with PNS. Imaging techniques such as MRI CT are pivotal detecting PNS its signs symptoms. typically indicates a worse prognosis, increased recurrence rate, lower survival....
Paragangliomas are slow-growing hypervascular neuroendocrine tumors that arise from neural crest paraganglia cells distributed throughout the body. The purpose of this article is to review clinical presentation and imaging characteristics paragangliomas head neck, based on their sites origin, discuss differential diagnosis lesions can mimic them. This also reviews detailed anatomy jugular fossa, temporal bone, carotid space, where most neck found. intended for neuroradiologists...
Tumor thrombosis is a poor prognostic feature and an exceptionally rare occurrence in salivary gland malignancies. We present case of primary parotid myoepithelial carcinoma (MC) with tumor the external jugular vein (EJV). An 82-year-old man presented right-sided facial mass. MRI without gadolinium demonstrated mass right filling defect EJV. The patient underwent parotidectomy selective neck dissection. was found intraoperatively within Final pathology poorly differentiated MC. Adjuvant...
Introduction: A variety of congenital vascular anomalies involve the skull base. These lesions may complicate base surgery and their preoperative identification allow for better operative planning.
In brief: Boxers, baseball players, and some other athletes are sometimes at risk of injury to the genitalia. For injuries, such as testicular rupture or acute torsion, early surgery increases likelihood preserving function. Other injuries more appropriately treated conservatively. When a patient has severe pain, physical examination scrotum can be difficult, information obtained with ultrasound radionuclide scintigraphy help in diagnosis treatment. The authors compare normal findings those...
