ABSTRACT With the widespread integration of distributed power sources, DC microgrids (DCMGs) have become an important component new smart grid. Detecting unintentional islanding, defined as inadvertent disconnection generators (DGs) from utility grid, is a significant challenge for microgrids. When in near‐zero mismatch, traditional passive over/under voltage islanding detection method will enter non‐detection zone (NDZ), and active compromise quality due to injection disturbance signals....

Conventional virtual dc machine (VDCM) control incorporates the mechanical characteristics of machines to emulate necessary system inertia. Utilizing already-existing proportional-integral loops in conventional VDCM control, this article eliminates requirement calculating torques using power measurements, i.e., power-loop-free VDCM, which greatly simplifies and reduces required resources for implementation. Theoretical analysis proposed shows that controlled steady-state dynamic are not...

DC microgrid has become an important part of supporting "carbon peaking, carbon neutralization" and building a low-carbon energy system. However, the short-circuit current rises rapidly great impact, threatening normal operation microgrid. As main protection strategy for removing faults, differential can quickly selectively remove fault lines, but it depends on communication. In addition, high impedance short circuit may also lead to failure strategy. To improve quick action sensitivity...
