Pyrolysis of rice husk (RH), an agricultural by-product, was studied at different temperatures (700–1100°C) in the presence air. The changes morphologies, compositions and phase transformations were critically by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy X-ray diffractometry, respectively. Different phases silica obtained from RH observed with respect to change temperatures. Crystallite size amount each temperature worked out using diffractometer (XRD) plots....

Calcium fluoride, known as fluorspar is a very good flux in steel making and also has been reported to increase the alloy yield metal recovery aluminothermic melts for production of ferrochrome. The present investigation therefore carried out study effect CaF2 additions on viscosity synthetically prepared slags pertaining ferrochrome, with composition approximating that ferrochrome slag generated industry. viscosities these have measured at four different Al2O3/CaO ratios broad varying...

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) microfiber of 1.5 denier per filament (dpf) has been irradiated with 3-MeV proton at two different fluences: 1 × 1013 and 1015p/cm2. Molecular deformation because in-air irradiation straining PET filaments investigated. Study the effects by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy Instron technique shows microstress crosslinks on surface fiber (as revealed from XRD line shift shift). However, Young's modulus is found to be larger an dose 1013p/cm2.

The viscous slag generated during aluminothermic reduction of metallic oxides for production metals or alloys slows down the process and obstructs clear separation metal. fluxing constituents are added to bring viscosity.Hence effect variation CaO MgO contents on viscosity synthetically prepared ferrochrome slags having an approximate composition industrial ferro-chrome resulting from chromium oxide has been studied at various temperatures. Increase is found decrease slags. relative in...

Fusion behaviour of synthetic slags resembling those produced during Alumino-thermic reduction chromite ore for production Low-carbon ferro-chrome has been thoroughly discussed. The effect fluxes like CaO, MgO and CaF2 on the measured values characteristic temperatures, which represent fusion a slag, experimentally determined critically discussed. All three fluxing constituents are found to decrease temperatures. is gap between liquidus temperature characterising flow slag.

AI2O3-ZrO2 microcomposites having nominally equal volumes of the two phases were prepared by a combined gel-precipitation technique using AICI3 and ZrOCI2 precursors. Dried gel powders calcined at 375°C followed compaction sintering to study (i) evolution AI2O3 ZrO2and (ii) densification behaviour microcomposites. ZrO2 crystallized tetragonal/cubic structure formed 375°C, while δ-AI2O3not before 1000°C converted α-AI2O3at or above 1200°C.For time 4 h density increased almost linearly from...

Abstract The samples in the system Gd 1‐x Ba x CoO 3 (x = 0.00, 0.10, 0.20) were prepared by chemical route. These form single‐phase materials, which confirmed XRD and TGA studies. presence of interfacial polarization is responsible for high value dielectric constant these materials. conductivity observed may be due to mobile holes created excitation an electron from π* band acceptor level.

This paper reports a new approach for fibre density determination by laser diffraction. The problem of determining the virgin and proton-irradiated has been investigated applying above approach. Using this simple setup, experimental PET microfibre can be measured with an accuracy 3.03% sample 3.97% irradiated samples.

Three different methods, namely (i) Image Processing (ii) XRD based on peak area or height and (iii) pulse counts have been adopted for estimation of glass content in granulated Blast Furnace Slag (BFS). Though the methods Analysis are found to be accurate, latter is a time consuming technique. The average difference results as estimated by taken over five samples 0.05% with 0.19% area.
