A series of chemical and biochemical parameters edible hemp resources (seeds, oil, flour) from the monoecious EU registered genotype Fedora, was determined, including fatty acid profile, phytosterol composition, total phenolics, antioxidant activity, macro- micro-elements. The ω-3/ω-6 approached nutritionally optimal 3/1 ratio. β-sitosterol other phytosterols sterols dominated unsaponifiable fraction. Hemp seeds, flour, oil contained 767 ± 41, 744 29, 21 5 mg GAE kg-1 polyphenols,...

Nut and seed oils are often considered waste products but in recent years they have been receiving growing interest due to their high concentration of hydrophilic lipophilic bioactive components, which important pharmacological properties on human health. The aim this work was compare the physico-chemical biochemical pomegranate (Punicagranatum), sweet cherry (Prunusavium) pumpkin (Cucurbita maxima) obtained by solvent extraction.High amount linoleic acid found oils, while oil showed...

Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi are very widespread, forming symbiotic associations with ~80% of land plant species, including almost all crop plants. These considered great interest for their use as biofertilizer in low-input and organic agriculture. In addition to an improvement nutrition, AM have been reported enhance tolerance important abiotic biotic environmental conditions, especially a reduced availability resources. features, be exploited applied the field, require thorough...

In this work, we characterized conjugated linolenic acids (e.g., punicic acid) as the major components of hydrophilic fraction (80% aqueous methanol extract) from pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) seed oil (PSO) and evaluated their anti-inflammatory potential on some human colon (HT29 HCT116), liver (HepG2 Huh7), breast (MCF-7 MDA-MB-231) prostate (DU145) cancer lines. Our results demonstrated that acid its congeners induce a significant decrease cell viability for two lines with related...

In this study, a hydroalcoholic chestnut shell extract was characterized and tested on six different human cell lines. Gallic, ellagic, syringic acids were the most abundant non-condensed compounds in extract, as determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Tannins mainly represented condensed monomeric units of epigallocatechin catechin/epicatechin. After 48 h treatment, only hepatoblastoma HepG2 cells reached an inhibition corresponding to IC50 with increase apoptosis...

The analysis of mineral elements composition was determined in three wild edible herbs (Cichorium intybus L., Sonchus asper L. and Borago officinalis) collected seven different sampling sites which were characterized by pollution grade. detection (Ca, K, Mg Na), micronutrients (Cu, Fe, Li, Mn Zn) heavy metals (As, Cd, Hg, Ni Pb) performed. The results obtained show that most cases a direct relationship appeared between the amount sites. highest concentrations found samples grown polluted...

Total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of polar extracts edible resources from Fedora hemp cultivar (Cannabis sativa L.), namely seed, flour oil, were evaluated. The main components in the identified using HPLC-DAD HPLC-ESI-MS/MS. As expected, molecular profile seeds was strictly similar, dominated by N-trans-caffeoyltyramine. oil contained hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives cannabinoids at lower extent. While seed did not interfere with growth Caco-2 HT-29 cell, one (150 µg/mL)...
