In this paper, we present a full velocity difference model for car-following theory based on the previous models in literature. To our knowledge, is an improvement over ones theoretically, because it considers more aspects process than others. This point verified by numerical simulation. Then investigate property of using both analytic and methods, find that can describe phase transition traffic flow estimate evolution congestion.

In this paper, a visco-elastic traffic flow model is described and applied to explore peculiarities of flows on loop road with ramp effects numerically. Based different expressions for pressure, sound speed relaxation time, the viscoelastic derived from mass momentum conservations linear constitutive relation. Numerical simulations have been carried out, rate being assumed be randomly dependent local main at intersection. The results revealed that on-ramp effect can cause occurrence shock...

SUMMARY To increase our understanding of the operations traffic system, a visco‐elastic model was proposed in analogy non‐Newtonian fluid mechanics. The is based on mass and momentum conservations, includes constitutive relation similar to that linear fluids. further inclusion elastic effect allows us describe high‐order more comprehensively because use relaxation time indicates vehicle drivers adjust their headway reasonable safe range. self‐organizing behaviour described by introducing...

With the aim to understand air pollutant dispersion among high-density, high-rise buildings, this paper presents numerical results of three-dimensional flows around two identical square cylinders (TISCs) in staggered arrangements at a Reynolds number 250 and zero incident angle when between incoming velocity vector line connecting centers is 45°. The dependence drag lift, their root mean values, Strouhal on horizontal spacing have been evaluated. It was found that correlation coefficients...

Speed limit of freeway tunnel restricts car driving behaviors. To explore the effect travel time, a double lane traffic model is put forward, and compensative function mean time simply introduced in this paper. The describes net lane-changing rate using ratio characteristic changing to relaxation assumes that cars on both lanes have same equilibrium speed, but speeds normal section are different. It assumed road length 100 km, 7.5 km except for case seeking effects. used build simulation...

This paper presents viscoelastic modelling of traffic flows briefly first and then shows numerical simulation results ring flow sensitivity to model parameters, such as viscoelasticity, average vehicle length, braking distance, characteristic length used define relaxation time. It was found that pattern formation is dramatically sensitive viscoelasticity fundamental diagram which explicitly impacted by implying drivers' self-organisation ability significant in determining the intensity wave...

This study presents a multilane model for analyzing the dynamic traffic properties of highway segment under lane-closure operation that often incurs complex interactions between mandatory lane-changing vehicles and at unblocked lanes. The proposed flow formulations employ hyperbolic used in non-Newtonian fluid dynamics, assume intensity neighboring lanes as function their difference density. results extensive simulation experiments indicate is capable realistically replicating impacts...

Fluid flow throttling is common in industrial and building services engineering. Similar tunnel of vehicular caused by the abrupt number reduction roadway lane, as has a lower lane than normal segment. To predict effects annular freeway flow, three-lane continuum model developed. This letter reports traffic flow sensitivity to visco-elasticity, with the modeling briefly described at first and then used do simulations whose results can reflect properties of spatial–temporal evolution ring flow. It reveals that visco-elasticity plays crucial role in formation patterns, implying self-organization is determining status.
