A new method of diagnosing and defining functional popliteal artery entrapment syndrome is described. By combining ultrasonography magnetic resonance imaging techniques with dynamic plantarflexion the ankle against resistance, can be demonstrated location arterial occlusion identified. This combination modalities will also define muscular anatomy for guiding intervention such as surgery or Botox injection.
Abstract Introduction Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) of the prostate has become integral in investigation suspected cancer. Regions interest are graded using PIRADS scoring system, and our institution, lesions as 3–5 undergo sampling by MRI‐guided biopsy. Limited data currently exists on grading biopsy results. Methods Retrospective review 343 biopsies (MRGB) performed between April 2013 December 2016 was conducted. This included patients irrespective whether they were...
To describe a new syndrome of tight orbit and intractable glaucoma with poor visual prognosis.A retrospective observational case series six patients seen at two centres between 2001 2007 assessing intraocular pressure (IOP), best-corrected acuity field.Three men three women, ranging in age diagnosis from 14 to 53 years, demonstrated similar orbital features progressive field loss despite intensive management medication laser operative surgery. Highest IOPs ranged 30 50 mmHg. Trabeculectomy...
Purpose: Three‐dimensional (3D) prostate image segmentation is useful for cancer diagnosis and therapy guidance, but can be time‐consuming to perform manually involves varying levels of difficulty interoperator variability within the prostatic base, midgland (MG), apex. In this study, authors measured accuracy interobserver in on T2‐weighted endorectal magnetic resonance (MR) imaging whole gland (WG), separately apex, midgland, base regions. Methods: The collected MR images from 42 patients....
Purpose Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) has shown promise in the detection and localization of prostate cancer foci. Although techniques have been previously introduced to delineate lesions from mpMRI, these were evaluated datasets with T2 maps available. The generation map is not included clinical mpMRI consensus guidelines; acquisition which requires repeated T2‐weighted (T2W) scans would significantly lengthen scan time currently required for clinically recommended protocol, includes T2W,...
Recently, multi-parametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging (mp-MRI) has been used to improve the sensitivity of detecting high-risk prostate cancer (PCa). Prior biopsy, primary and secondary lesions are identified on mp-MRI. The then targeted using TRUS guidance. In this paper, for first time, we present a fused mp-MRI-temporal-ultrasound framework characterization PCa, in vivo. Cancer classification results obtained temporal ultrasound with those achieved consolidated mp-MRI maps...
Purpose: Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MPMRI) supports detection and staging of prostate cancer, but the image characteristics needed for tumor boundary delineation to support focal therapy have not been widely investigated. We quantified detectability (image contrast between non-cancerous contralateral tissue) localizability neighboring Gleason score 7 (GS7) peripheral zone (PZ) tumors on MPMRI using contours mapped from histology accurate 2D–3D registration....
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect on diagnostic image quality and acquisition time utilising a DIXON sequence replace two standard proton density (PD) fat saturation (FS) sequences in routine magnetic resonance (MR) evaluation knee.Thirty-one consecutive patients referred for an MR examination knee were examined using departmental protocol along with addition sequence. all evaluated by senior radiologist feedback provided via both written scored responses. then...
Measurement of prostate tumour volume can inform prognosis and treatment selection, including an assessment the suitability feasibility focal therapy, which potentially spare patients deleterious side effects radical treatment. Prostate biopsy is clinical standard for diagnosis but provides limited information regarding due to sparse tissue sampling. A non-invasive means accurate determination burden could be value important step toward reduction overtreatment. Multi-parametric magnetic...
Prostate segmentation on T2w MRI is important for several diagnostic and therapeutic procedures prostate cancer. Manual time-consuming, labor-intensive, subject to high interobserver variability. This study investigated the suitability of computer-assisted algorithms clinical translation, based measurements interoperator variability editing time required yield clinically acceptable segmentations. A multioperator pilot was performed under three pre- postediting conditions: manual,...
Prostatic adenocarcinoma is one of the most commonly occurring cancers among men in world, and it also curable cancer when detected early. Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) combines anatomic functional prostate imaging techniques, which have been shown to produce high sensitivity specificity localization, important planning biopsies focal therapies. However, previous investigations, lesion localization was achieved mainly by manual segmentation, time-consuming prone observer variability. Here, we...
Prostate cancer is the third leading causes of death in men. However, disease curable if diagnosed early. During past decades, multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) has been shown to be superior trans-rectal ultrasound (TRUS) detecting and localizing prostate lesions guide biopsies radiation therapies. The goal this paper develop a simple accurate graph-based regression framework for voxel-wise detection grading using mpMRIs. In framework, groups features were first extracted...
