We hereby proposed and experimentally demonstrated an active polarization imaging technique, based on wavelength selection, for seeing through highly turbid water where targets are always visually lost. The method was realized by making use of the dependence light scattering in water. Red illumination selected to minimize occurring propagation guarantee accurate estimation degree polarization. Experiments demonstrate its contribution turn from "undetectable" "detectable."

Underwater imaging provides human vision system friendly images; however, it often suffers from severe image degradation. This research developed an underwater polarization model, which considers the water scattering effect, as well absorption effect. It fully explored information of target scene that backscattered light is partially polarized and unpolarized. Then first estimated removed. The scene's distance derived based upon information, then applied to develop a distance-based...

Underwater imaging is a promising but challenging topic due to the scattering particles in water, which result serious light attenuation. Therefore, underwater images suffer from low-contrast and low-resolution issues. In this study, order recover high-quality images, point spread functions (PSFs) are estimated by slant-edge method. The experiment modulates illumination source deal with backscattering imager take two orthogonally polarized states. This method benefits satisfactory edge...

The classic midpoint method for triangulation is extremely fast, but usually labelled as inaccurate. We investigate the cost function that tries to minimize, and result shows prone underestimate accuracy of measurement acquired relatively far from three-dimensional (3-D) point. Accordingly, used in this letter enhanced by assigning a weight each measurement, which inversely proportional distance between 3-D point corresponding camera center. After analyzing gradient modified function, we...

Accurate passive 3D face reconstruction is of great importance with various potential applications. Three-dimensional polarization a promising approach, but one bothered by serious deformations caused an ambiguous surface normal. In this study, we propose learning-based method for reconstruction. It first calculates the normal each microfacet at pixel level based on diffusely reflected light face, where no auxiliary equipment, including artificial illumination, required. Then, CNN-based 3DMM...

To balance the accuracy and efficiency in multiple-view triangulation with sequential images, a high-efficiency propagation-based incremental (INT) method, carving three-dimensional (3D) scene points by updating incoming feature track one without iterations, is proposed. Based on INT more accurate iteration-limited method also established few iterations to bound propagated errors, ensuring of subsequent 3D reconstruction. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that proposed methods can...
