The bio-alternative solvent Cyrene was shown to be an alternative toxic oil-derived solvents for the synthesis of ureas.
The silver-nucleoside complex [Ag(i)-(N3-cytidine)2]+, 1, self-assembles to form a supramolecular metal-mediated base-pair array highly analogous those seen in metallo-DNA.
A change of solvent provides a means to modulate the intermetallic distance Ag ion chains in solvated structures [AgI(cytidine-5′-monophosphate)], 3D coordination polymer which features less common O2,N3-binding mode for nucleobase. Though shortest Ag···Ag separation is within 5% that metallic element, not electrically conducting, as shown by oriented single-crystal I/V measurements. Band structure calculations isolated chain ([Ag-(O2,N3-Cyt)]+)n also support this. Additionally, we...
We have synthesized and structurally characterized examples of the well-known silver-mediated DNA base pair in its simplest possible form, as [AgI-bis-(N3-cytosine)]+. The compounds show differences such variable coordination geometry, conformation with cisoid transoid arrangements, and, one case, intramolecular pairing. Collectively, these represent three five permutations linear/bent geometry cisoid/transoid arrangement cytosine ligands contain global minimum determined by DFT...
Abstract Visible light‐driven conversion of CO 2 into more value‐added products is a promising technology not only for diminution emission but also solar energy storage in the form chemical energy. However, photocatalytic materials that can efficiently and selectively reduce ‐to‐CO fully aqueous solution typically involve precious metals limit their suitability large scale applications. Herein, novel assembly reported, consisting polymeric carbon nitride quantum dots (CNQDs) as visible light...
