We report on the ability to fabricate super low density InGaAs semiconductor ring-shaped nanocrystals a GaAs (100) surface by molecular beam epitaxy. Nonresonant optical excitation of a coupled quantum dot system was seen to generate shift in the electric-field-dependent photoluminescence spectra.
