Ischemia is characterized by oxidative stress and changes in the antioxidant defense system. Our recent vitro study showed that 2-cyclopropylimino-3-methyl-1,3-thiazoline hydrochloride protects cortical astrocytes against stress. In current study, we examined effects of on ischemia-induced neuronal damage a gerbil ischemia/reperfusion models. Extensive death hippocampal CA1 area was observed 4 days after ischemia/reperfusion. Intraperitoneal injection (0.3 mg/kg body weight) significantly...

Although CT has been used widely, the role of preoperative findings including other factors in tympanoplasty not elucidated comprehensively. To evaluate relationship with and audiological results type 1 tympanoplasty.A cohort consecutive 175 patients was enrolled. Addition mastoidectomy based on presence soft tissue antrum CT. Postoperative air-bone gap (ABG) reperforation rate were analyzed.Positive found 52 (29.7%) showed larger ABG than negative group. Successful closure (≤20 dB) obtained...

Human glutamate dehydrogenase isozymes (hGDH1 and hGDH2) have been known to be inhibited by palmitoyl-CoA with a high affinity. In this study, we performed the cassette mutagenesis at six different Cys residues (Cys59, Cys93, Cys119, Cys201, Cys274, Cys323) identify binding sites within hGDH2.Four cysteine positions of C59, C93, C201, or C274 may involved, least in part, inhibition hGDH2 palmitoyl-CoA.There was biphasic relationship, depending on levels palmitoyl-CoA, between loss enzyme...

Patulous eustachian tube (ET) has been characterised by the visualisation of full-length ET on computed tomography (CT) results. We wanted to investigate changes visualised lengths age in supine and sitting positions.Retrospective study.Tertiary care academic referral centre. One hundred subjects who underwent cone beam CT (CBCT) a position conventional for non-otitis-related or dental complaints.Visualised from nasopharyngeal orifice measured different positions ages.Subjects did not show...

Background: The accurate detection of distant metastases can facilitate appropriate treatment planning for patients with recurrent head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Objectives: We evaluated the role 18F-FDG PET/CT metastasis diagnosis survival prediction in HNSCC. Materials methods: This study included 95 consecutive HNSCC salvage treatments. McNemar's test was used to compare at recurrence using contrast-enhanced chest CT, bone scintigraphy. Results: Thirty-two (34%) had...

When vestibular schwannoma originates from the segment within labyrinth of vestibulocochlear nerve, it is termed intralabyrinthine (ILS). As most cases are presented with profound sensorineural hearing loss on affected side, for auditory rehabilitation, cochlear implantation can be considered simultaneously as tumor removal. Successful results were reported in patients ILS even after partial resection mass. In this study, we report two unilateral deafness. one patient, a mass found basal...

The Ex-Utero Intrapartum Treatment (EXIT) is a procedure that secures the airway in fetus with upper obstruction. Congenital high obstruction syndrome (CHAOS) blockage of fetal trachea or larynx due to narrowing (stenosis), web-like membrane, even an area missing (atresia). If it was not adequately diagnosed and managed prenatal evaluation, infant would survive after birth. We present case CHAOS, which treated successfully by EXIT during delivery.
