An InGaAs monolithic interconnected module (MIM) using reflective spectral control has been fabricated and measured in a thermophotovoltaic radiator/module system (radiator, optical cavity, module). Results showed that at radiator temperature of 1039/spl deg/C 25/spl deg/C, respectively, 23.6% radiant heat conversion efficiency 0.79W/cm/sup 2/ maximum power density were obtained. The use increased the thus by /spl sim/16% (relative). However, amount useful radiation reaching MIM decreased...

Women have made substantial employment gains in business, law, medicine, and behavioral sciences during the past generation, but there has not been a corresponding increase number of women engineers. Explanations for slow progress engineering fields often assume that do same level mathematical or visual-spatial skills as men, yet decades research produced solid support this assumption. This study presents results campus survey indicating many men students negative attitudes toward women, are...

Given that healthcare costs in the U.S. continue to climb, engineering managers can help address this situation by identifying designs for cost savings. Using discrete-event simulation, layout of four different clinic scenarios considered a redesign program named Patient Aligned Care Teams were studied. Model 1 is an existing many clinics and 2 staff-centered, while Models 3 4 provide additional space including common hallway(s). Our main conclusion reduces patient travel distances average...
