Types of five the six Plecoptera species described by Émile Blanchard and holotype single stonefly Jules François Mabille were discovered in National Museum Prague, Czech Republic. The identity P. myrmidon Mabille, 1891 pictetii Blanchard, 1854 are confirmed as Potamoperla Pictetoperla gayi (Pictet, 1841), respectively. Perla virescentipennis 1851 is considered Diamphipnopsis comb. n., with Diamphipnosis samali Illies, 1960 syn. n. a junior subjective synonym, Diamphipnoa chillanae nom....

We present a phylogenetic analysis that includes all known species of Agathemera, using as outgroup four the genera Heteronemia, Spinonemia, Monticomorpha, and Anisomorpha. Phylogenetic inference was based on three genes, 16S, COI (mitochondrial markers) H3 (nuclear marker), maximum-parsimony, maximum-likelihood Bayesian methods. Our results show genus Agathemera is monophyletic; six its eight showed support, while group A. claraziana + millepunctata not resolved. The resulting topology...

Wild cockroaches are often described as abundant and diverse insects from wet tropical zones; however, they can also be found in arid semiarid areas. It is proposed that these drier environments cockroach survival may dependent on its tight association with native plant species. In this work, using bait trapping active collection methods, we surveyed species along central Chile coastal scrubland; the southern limit of Mediterranean Matorral biome Neotropical Region (32° S). Based...

Native bees contribute a considerable portion of pollination services for endemic as well introduced plant species. Their decline has been attributed to several human-derived influences including global warming the reduction, alteration, and loss bees’ habitat. With human expansion comes along introduction exotic species with negative impacts over native ecosystems. Anthropic effects may even have deeper impact on communities adapted extreme environments, such high elevation habitats, where...
