Modification of a ZnO cathode by doping it with hydroxyl-containing derivative - giving ZnO-C60 provides fullerene-derivative-rich surface and enhanced electron conduction. Inverted polymer solar cells the display markedly improved power conversion efficiency compared to those pristine cathode, especially when active layer includes low-bandgap PTB7-Th.
We present high efficiency and stable inverted PSCs (i-PSC) by employing sol-gel processed simultaneously doped ZnO Indium fullerene derivative (BisNPC60-OH) (denoted as InZnO-BisC60) film cathode interlayer PTB7-Th:PC71BM the active layer (where PTB7-Th is a low bandgap polymer we proposed previously). This dual-doped ZnO, InZnO-BisC60, shows dual opposite gradient dopant concentration profiles, being rich in at surface contact with In ITO surface. Such doping not only gives improved...

The system studied involves polyfluorene (PF) base polymer, carbazole (Cz) moiety source green emission forming an electroplex PF main chain, cyclometalated iridium (Ir) dopant. Energy transfer from Ir...
Abstract Solution‐processed organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) with thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) material as emitter have attracted much attention because of their low cost and high performance. However, exciton quench at the interface between hole injection layer, poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), emitting layer (EML) in devices can lead to device Here, a novel triplet energy (2.89 eV) crosslinkable hole‐transporting grafted oxetane...
We report a new route for the design of efficient soluble electroluminescent PPV-based copolymers bearing electron-deficient oxadiazole (OXD) moieties on side chains. The introduction OXD through long alkylene spacer with PPV backbone provides molecular dispersion in film; both chain and main do retain their own electron-transport emissive properties, respectively. use phenylene vinylene derivatives asymmetric branched substituents solubility ease device fabrication as well amorphous...

Bilayer polymer light-emitting diodes with two blue materials, poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) and poly(2-dodecyl-p-phenylene) (C12O-PPP), can emit or white light, depending on the solvent used in fabrication of second layer, C12O-PPP. If hexane (the nonsolvent for PVK) is used, device emits light as a single layer However, if toluene cosolvent polymers) originating from an exciplex emission at bilayer interface addition to exciton At low temperatures, intensity drops that becomes dominant.
Dipping pristine poly(9,9-di-n-octylfluorene) film into a mixed solvent/ nonsolvent THF/MeOH transforms the conformation of minor amorphous-phase chains to β-phase conformers (see figure) with controllable content. The β phase acts as dopant and causes electron trapping promoted hole mobility. It allows efficient energy transfer charge thus achieves pure-blue electroluminescence enhanced device performance.
We present a novel electron transport (ET) polymer composed of polyfluorene grafted with K+-intercalated crown ether involving six oxygen atoms (PFCn6:K+) for bulk-heterojunction solar cells (PSCs) regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) as the donor and indene–C60 bisadduct (ICBA) or indene–[6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (IPCBM) acceptor in active layer Al Ca/Al cathode. A remarkable improvement power conversion efficiency (PCE) (measured air) was observed upon insertion this...

We propose a simple way to achieve pure blue emission and improved device efficiency via capping poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) (PFO) with electron-deficient moieties (EDMs, such as oxadiazole (OXD) triazole (TAZ)), which can induce minor amount of long conjugating length species (regarded beta phase) control extents energy transfer from amorphous matrix the phase. The PFO end-capped TAZ is higher than that para-tert-butyl phenyl (TBP) by factor 2 (with CsF/Al cathode), its electroluminescent...

Upon doping green red emission Ir-complexes, it gives devices luminous external quantum efficiencies for (23.7 cd/A, 6.57%) (5.1 4.23%), respectively, low turn-on voltage (3 V). For both devices, are higher than those of corresponding same backbone P(3,6-Cz) by factor 4, even though latter has an ET (2.6 slightly that former. The results reflect that, in...

A novel strategy employing core–shell nanowire arrays (NWAs) consisting of Si/regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) was demonstrated to facilitate efficient light harvesting and exciton dissociation/charge collection for hybrid solar cells (HSCs). We experimentally demonstrate broadband omnidirectional light-harvesting characteristics NWA HSCs due their subwavelength features, further supported by the simulation based on finite-difference time domain analysis. Meanwhile, geometry...
Abstract In the past few years, tremendous progress in power conversion efficiency (PCE) of polymer solar cell (PSC) via design novel conjugated polymers has been made. order to further promote PCE, an efficient way is narrow down optical band gap polymers. This review focuses on low based Donor—Acceptor (D—A) strategy and quinoid form structure. At first, we introduce requirements for polymers, such as tuning energy levels. Second, importance main chain, side chain substituents, which...

The emission spectrum is composed of red component originating the new excited dimer in addition to blue-green an individual lumophore and excimer. This formed under strong electric field inside diode cannot be produced by photoexcitation, different excimer or exciplex that often found both photoluminescence electroluminescence, it...

Polymer solar cells (PSCs) based on fullerene derivatives often require additives to optimize active layer morphology. Here, the novel additive 1‐naphthalenethiol (SH‐na) is proposed for processing PSC of PTB7:PC 71 BM. Spin‐casting with SH‐na as achieves a power conversion efficiency (PCE) 7.3%, compared 6.7% preparations containing conventional 1,8‐diiodooctane additive. Dipping into methanol solution critical concentration increases PCE further 8.75%. This mainly due an improved...
