We report on the pilot scale synthesis and melt spinning of poly(ethylene furanoate) (PEF), a promising bio-based fiber polymer that can heave mechanical properties in range commercial terephthalate) (PET) fibers. Catalyst optimization solid state polycondensation (SSP) allowed for intrinsic viscosities PEF up to 0.85 dL·g-1. Melt-spun multifilament yarns reached tensile strength 65 cN·tex-1 with an elongation 6% modulus 1370 cN·tex-1. The crystallization behavior was investigated by...

During machining mechanical energy is dissipated into heat by frictional processes and plastic deformations of the workpiece material.Workpiece tool are thereby subjected to thermal loads that cause expansions deformations. These decrease accuracy machining. In order reduce such deformations, enhanced cutting conditions need be determined.Finite element (FE) simulations allow for an optimization prior actual machining.A validated 3D FE model determine temperature distribution regarding...

Dry cutting is an important issue with regard to the economy and ecology of machining. The absence fluid reduces both costs for machining risk ecological hazards. However, missing convection through increases temperatures workpiece tool, thus their thermal expansions. As a result, remarkable deviations from nominal geometry occur. To enhance accuracy when dry turning, expansions tool can be calculated prior actual turning using finite element (FE) models in order adapt depth cut accordingly....

A technique using a liquid stabilised plasma gun is described for the manufacturing of rotation–symmetrical free–standing shapes with dimensions not attained so far. The components are generated by spraying pure ceramic powder onto rotating metal mandrel. Surface pretreatment and temperature control mandrel during process important factors. Essential properties will be presented as well examples applications.

Dry turning is accompanied by considerable process-induced deformations of the workpiece and tool. Such decrease accuracy machining. In this paper, finite element models are used in order to calculate tool regarding cutting condition used. The correction depth cut according calculated allows for compensation deformations. carried out a computer-aided-design / computer-aided-manufacturing (CAD-CAM) approach. results reveal significant increase machining dry when compensating

To tap the full potential of reinforcing fibres for lightweight construction sustainable carbon fibre–reinforced plastic components, woven three-dimensional reinforcement structures open up innovative approaches by integrating functional features. In this work, a novel shuttle weaving technology was taken advantage to study with uninterrupted load trajectories from three points view. Mechanical principals, economic and environmental issues were focused provide an overall picture....

Abstract During chip formation in turning processes, mechanical work is dissipated into thermal energy by plastic deformations and frictional processes. In case of dry cutting, the generated heat part removed with chips while rest flows tool workpiece. Within latter, temperature increases due to this flow, which turn causes expansions that increase cutting depth thus induce deviations from nominal workpiece geometry. These effects are treated separately a local model for global whole order...

Taoism is a Chinese philosophy and way life dating back several millen nia, codified around 500 B.C. Confu cius told students Tzu had met dragon. Confucius fa vored multiplicity social roles rules. By contrast, emphasizes intuition, spontaneity, simplicity. Its supreme concept, Tao, symbol ized by...
