The four copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) with the size of 25, 50, 78 and 100 nm one type micron-sized particles (MPs) (∼500 nm) were exposed to two mammalian (H4IIE HepG2) piscine (PLHC-1 RTH-149) cell lines test species-specific toxicities CuNPs. results showed that morphologies, ion release all played an important role when investigating toxicity. Furthermore, authors found particle forms CuNPs in suspensions highly contribute toxicity whereas ions (Cu2+) only caused significant responses...

The coastal region of northeastern Brazil holds one the most important records mosasaurids from Late Cretaceous South America. Analysis these discoveries allowed us to create a picture composition fauna, as well diversity and paleobiogeography clades. In region, mosasaurid fossils are contained in Cenomanian Maastrichtian geological units epicontinental marine origin, Cotinguiba (Sergipe-Alagoas Basin), Alcântara (São Luís Itamaracá (Paraíba Calumbi Gramame Basin) formations. Paleogeographic...

Ecosystems are exposed to a wide variety of individual substances, including at the nano-scale; and potential adverse effects their interactions an increasing concern. The purpose present study was determine whether zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) no-observed-effect concentration modulate cytotoxicity copper (CuNPs) in fish hepatoma cell line PLHC-1 after 48 h exposure contribution released ions these effects. Cells were 50-nm CuNPs (0.39-25.0 µg/mL), alone or combination with ZnONPs (25...

In this study, the validation of a method for analyzing uranium (U) concentration in human urine samples by inductively coupled plasma-sector field mass spectrometry (ICP-SFMS) was conducted. PROCORAD (the Association Promotion Quality Control Radiotoxicological Analysis) provided two spiked with unknown contents U (Sample A = 33.6 ± 1.0 µg/L and Sample B 3.3 0.1 µg/L) one unspiked sample as blank. The analyses were directly performed on diluted (dilution factor 1:20) 5% v/v HNO3. results...

The Neutrino Experiment with a Xenon TPC (NEXT), intended to investigate neutrinoless double beta decay, requires extremely low background levels. An extensive material screening and selection process assess the radioactivity of components is underway combining several techniques, including germanium γ-ray spectrometry performed at Canfranc Underground Laboratory; recent results this program are presented here.

This work proposes a new approach for the analysis of radionuclides in NORM-type solid materials included European-level intercomparison test (Environmental Radiation Monitoring, REM2020), provided by Environmental Monitoring group Joint Research Centre (JRC). The measurement techniques employed are inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), using both quadrupole analyzer-equipped instruments (Q-ICP-MS) and high-resolution with magnetic sector analyzer (HR-ICP-MS), atomic...
