Three novel complexes, Cd3tma2*13H2O (1), Cd3tma2*dabco*2H2O (2), and Cd3Htma3*8H2O (3) (tma = trimesate), of cadmium(II)-trimesate coordination polymers are obtained from hydrothermal reaction. 1 (C18H32O25Cd3) crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/c space group [a 18.985(2) A, b 7.3872(6) c 20.432(2) 97.1660(10), Z 4]. 2 (C24H22N2O14Cd3) P2(1)/c 10.1323(2) 19.5669(5) 13.15880(10) 108.9810(10), 3 (C27H28O26Cd3) belongs to trigonal P31c 15.7547(3) 7.93160(10) 2]. The Cd(II) centers three...
In this work, the effects of addition transition metals (Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu) on structure and performance doped carbon catalysts M-PANI/C-Mela are investigated. The results show that doping various affected structures performances significantly. Doping with Fe Mn leads to a catalyst graphene-like structure, Cu disordered or nanosheet structure. can enhance catalysts, their ORR activity follows order > Co which is consistent active N contents. We suggest enhancements may be result joint...
A dual stimuli-responsive system with spectral response from UV to the visible region was constructed by introducing methyl viologen into a luminescent Eu-MOF compact packing mode.
A new type of electron transfer (ET) system was built via the combination a highly stable MOF host framework and methyl viologen guest molecule. The π-stacking arrangements adjust distance between D–A components, contributing to formation an ultra long-lived charge separated state in photo/thermo dual stimuli-responsive complex.
Binary transition metal nitrides demonstrate high activity and stability/durability for the oxygen reduction reaction in both acid alkaline media.
Abstract A rotating phenyl ring is introduced between the two pyridinium rings, namely, 1,1′‐bis[3‐(trimethylamonium)propyl]‐4,4′‐(1,4‐phenylene)bispyridinium tetrachloride ((APBPy)Cl 4 ), to form a switchable conjugation. In this design, conjugation switched “off” in oxidized state and rings behave independently during redox process, yielding concomitant transfer of electrons at same potential and, thus, simplifying battery management. The “on” reduced charge can be effectively delocalized,...
Abstract The zinc–bromine flow battery (ZBFB) is one of the most promising technologies for large‐scale energy storage. Here, nitrogen‐doped carbon synthesized and investigated as positive electrode material in ZBFBs. synthesis includes carbonization glucose precursor nitrogen doping by etching ammonia gas. Physicochemical characterizations reveal that resultant exhibits high electronic conductivity, large specific surface area, abundant heteroatom‐containing functional groups, which benefit...
Chronoamperometry was used to study the dynamics of Pt nanoparticle (NP) collision with an inert ultramicroelectrode via electrocatalytic amplification (ECA) in hydrogen evolution reaction. ECA and dynamic light scattering (DLS) results reveal that NP colloid remains stable only at low proton concentrations (1.0 mm) under a helium (He) atmosphere, ensuring events occur genuinely single level. Amperometry collisions He atmosphere shows each discrete current profile event evolves from spike...
Abstract A novel organic molecule, 2,4,6‐tris[1‐(trimethylamonium)propyl‐4‐pyridiniumyl]‐1,3,5‐triazine hexachloride, was developed as a reversible six‐electron storage electrolyte for use in an aqueous redox flow battery (ARFB). Physicochemical characterization reveals that the molecule evolves from radical to biradical and finally quinoid structure upon accepting four electrons. Both diffusion coefficient rate constant were sufficiently high run with low concentration kinetics polarization...
Abstract Viologen and its derivatives have been widely investigated as the electroactive materials in aqueous flow batteries (AFBs). The high redox potential of viologen poses a challenge to AFB's energy density when used negative electrolyte. A molecular engineering strategy is developed by inserting an electron‐rich π‐bridge unit (viz. thiophene, furan) between two pyridiniums lower potential. resultant 1,1′‐bis[3‐(trimethylamonium)propyl]‐4,4′‐(2,5‐thiophenediyl)bispyridinium...
The hydrothermal reaction of H2tp (tp = terephthalate), [Ph3PCH2Ph]Cl and water with Cd(O2CCH3)(2).2H2O gives rise to a novel ribbon-candy-like supramolecular architecture twofold interpenetration an unprecedented 3D 8(2)10-a net formed by polymer ([Ph3PCH2Ph][Cd(tp).Cl].2H2O]n containing giant rhombic channels, which displays strong fluorescent emission in the solid state.
Two novel coordination polymers formed by cobalt nitrate and 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane with the homologous ligands 2-aminoterephthalic acid terephthalic acid, respectively, have been prepared. One displays a fivefold diamond-type feature while other exhibits twofold interpenetrating structural motif. The thermal photoluminescence properties associated their structures characterized studied. (© Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2002)
An air-stable photoresponsive viologen molecular system is constructed based on a three-fold accordion interpenetrating packing arrangement. The fluorescent modulation process coupled with photochromic reaction via energy and electron transfer between the adjacent donor acceptor groups.
Abstract The catalytic cyclocondensation of 1‐butoxy‐4‐methoxy‐2,5‐bis(methoxymethyl)benzene ( 1d ) affords a statistical mixture the regioisomeric pillar[5]arenes 3a – d in high yield. alkoxy groups are arranged stereoselectively mode so that they avoid steric interactions. rotation benzene rings is, at room temperature, fast terms NMR timescale and leads to de facto C s symmetry for c 5 h 3d . All four structural isomers can encapsulate two CH 3 CN guest molecules. structure determinations...
