The electrochemical instability of ether-based electrolyte solutions hinders their practical applications in high-voltage Li metal batteries. To circumvent this issue, here, we propose a dilution strategy to lose the Li+/solvent interaction and use dilute non-aqueous solution lithium We demonstrate that non-polar dipropyl ether (DPE)-based with bis(fluorosulfonyl) imide salt, decomposition order solvated species can be adjusted promote Li+/salt-derived anion clusters over free solvent...

Abstract Substituted 1,3,5-triazines for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) scavenging have established themselves as reliable and economical solutions in the oil gas industry. Aqueous MEA-triazine is most used, non-regenerative scavenger industry, its resulting reaction product, MEA-dithiazine, a ubiquitous well-studied molecule. However, despite storied history H2S scavenger, only recently were two reported crystalline polymorphic forms I II of MEA-dithiazine identified structurally compared....

Abstract A novel route for synthesis of B‐mercaptocarboranes is described. The reaction proceeds through Pd‐catalyzed iodine exchange with the sulfur nucleophile TIPS–SH in mono‐ and diiodinated ortho ‐, meta para ‐carboranes. Self‐assembled monolayers selected on a gold surface were analyzed by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy their water contact angles assessed.

Composite nanofibrous thin films of a cationic, water-soluble perylene diimide and oppositely charged polyelectrolyte are prepared by sequential deposition from separate aqueous solutions the two precursors. These materials may find future applications as semiconducting "wires" in organic electronics photovoltaics. The influence of precursor aggregation on materials deposition efficiency, film morphology, and macroscopic in-plane organization is explored for electrostatically self-assembled perylene-diimide/polyelectrolyte (PDI/PE) composites. PDI/PE thin films are prepared from aqueous solutions by sequential dip-coating methods. Three PDI dyes employed to probe the electrostatic self-assembly (ESA) These include a singly charged PDI, C(7)OPDI(+), two doubly species, PDISO(3)(2-) TAPDI(2+)....

Two approaches for the synthesis of rodlike polymers having metal bis(dicarbollide) anions connected by organic linkers, such as acetylene and 1,4-dibutyl-2,5-diethynylbenzene, in backbone are reported. Route 1 involved connecting nido-bis(carborane) compounds, containing via π coordination with Co or Ni metals.
