Bulk chemical analyses of 48 samples hydrothermal precipitates from seven polymstallic sulfide deposits at sea-floor spreading centers in the eastern Pacific reveal distinct patterns gold enrichment. High contents are found two deposits: Axial Seamount (45057 ' N, 130002 W), and southern Explorer Ridge (49045.6 130016.2 W). A large, 160-kg sample composed silica, barite, sphalerite top deposit gives up to 6,700 ppb Au, averaging 4,900 Au. Similar material 1,500 660 Detailed mineralogical...

The Howard's Pass district of sedimentary exhalative (SEDEX) Zn-Pb deposits is located in Yukon Territory and comprises 14 that contain an estimated 400.7 Mt sulfide mineralization grading 4.5 % Zn 1.5 Pb. Mineralization hosted carbonaceous calcareous and, to a lesser extent, siliceous mudstones. Pyrite minor but ubiquitous mineral the host rocks stratigraphically above, within, below mineralization. Petrographic analyses reveal pyrite has complex protracted growth history, preserving...

Three significant base metal deposits were recently discovered in the Finlayson Lake district, Yukon Territory, Canada; however, widely varying selenium contents (e.g., 1,100 ppm avg Se at Wolverine, 200 Kudz Ze Kayah, and 7 GP4F) have hindered their rapid exploitation. Observations data from district show a strong positive correlation between high-temperature (>300°C), copper-rich sulfide assemblages of volcanic-hosted massive (VHMS) content all minerals. Thermodynamic calculations for...

Porphyritic rhyolite sills form an important component of the footwall Wolverine volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposit, Yukon, Canada, and occur proximal to mineralization in immediate deposit area (Wolverine/Lynx zone) at similar stratigraphic levels along strike (Fisher, Puck, Sable zones). rhyolites are two types: older quartz-feldspar porphyritic (QFP) suite; a younger feldspar (FP) suite. Both QFP FP suites intrusions semiconcordant, suggesting silllike morphology, altered crosscut...
