In this paper, the iterative learning control (ILC) literature published between 1998 and 2004 is categorized discussed, extending earlier reviews presented by two of authors. The papers includes a general introduction to ILC technical description methodology. selected results are reviewed, into subcategories within broader division application-focused theory-focused results.

This technical note proposes a robust iterative learning control (ILC) strategy to regulate iteratively-operated, finite-duration nonrepetitive systems characterized by iteration-varying uncertainties in initial states, external disturbances, plant model matrices and desired reference trajectories. Our convergence analysis exploits results on input-to-state stability of discrete parameterized systems. For class multiple-input, multiple-output discrete-time linear systems, with all bounded,...

We have produced Bose-Einstein condensates in a ring-shaped magnetic waveguide. The few-millimeter diameter, nonzero-bias ring is formed from time-averaged quadrupole ring. Condensates that propagate around the make several revolutions within time it takes for them to expand fill shape ideally suited studies of vorticity multiply connected geometry and promising as rotation sensor.

We report on Kerr nonlinearity and dispersive optical bistability of a Fabry-Perot resonator due to the displacement ultracold atoms trapped within. In driven resonator, such collective motion is induced by forces acting upon up 10(5) 87Rb prepared in lowest band one-dimensional intracavity lattice. The longevity atomic motional coherence allows for strongly nonlinear optics at extremely low cavity photon numbers, as demonstrated observation both branches numbers below unity.

Abstract Learning control is an iterative approach to the problem of improving transient behavior for processes that are repetitive in nature. In this article, we present some results on learning control. A complete review literature given first. Then, a general formulation given. Next, analysis case linear, time‐invariant plants and controllers. This offers: (1) insight into nature solution by deriving sufficient convergence conditions; (2) linear systems based parameter estimation; (3)...
