In the present study, synthesis of fatty acid esters from castor oil using an alkaline catalyst was optimized. The variables reaction time, amount and oil:ethanol molar ratio were studied a central composite rotatable design. effects significance models on response variable ethyl biodiesel yield derived pure evaluated surface curve analysis variance. All significantly affected yield, being most effective. highest obtained 1:11, 1.75% KOH time 90 min.
