We present new $ν_μ\rightarrowν_e$, $ν_μ\rightarrowν_μ$, $\overlineν_μ\rightarrow\overlineν_e$, and $\overlineν_μ\rightarrow\overlineν_μ$ oscillation measurements by the NOvA experiment, with a 50% increase in neutrino-mode beam exposure over previously reported results. The additional data, combined published neutrino antineutrino are all analyzed using improved techniques simulations. A joint fit to $ν_e$, $ν_μ$, $\overlineν_e$, $\overlineν_μ$ candidate samples within 3-flavor framework...
This Letter reports the first results of a direct dark matter search with DEAP-3600 single-phase liquid argon (LAr) detector. The experiment was performed 2 km underground at SNOLAB (Sudbury, Canada) utilizing large target mass, LAr contained in spherical acrylic vessel 3600 kg capacity. is viewed by an array PMTs, which would register scintillation light produced rare nuclear recoil signals induced particle scattering. An analysis 4.44 live days (fiducial exposure 9.87 ton day) data taken...
We report cross-section measurements of the final-state muon kinematics for ${\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}$ charged-current interactions in NOvA near detector using an accumulated $8.09\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{20}$ protons on target NuMI beam. present results as a double-differential cross section observed outgoing energy and angle, well single-differential sections derived neutrino energy, ${E}_{\ensuremath{\nu}}$, square four-momentum transfer, ${Q}^{2}$. compare to...
One of the most computationally challenging problems expected for High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) is determining trajectory charged particles during event reconstruction. Algorithms used at LHC today rely on Kalman filtering, which builds physical trajectories incrementally while incorporating material effects and error estimation. Recognizing need faster computational throughput, we have adapted Kalman-filter-based methods highly parallel, many-core SIMD architectures that...
We report a search for magnetic monopole component of the cosmic-ray flux in 95-day exposure NOvA experiment's Far Detector, 14 kt segmented liquid scintillator detector designed primarily to observe GeV-scale electron neutrinos. No events consistent with monopoles were observed, setting an upper limit on $2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}14}\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{cm}}^{\ensuremath{-}2}\text{ }{\mathrm{s}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}\text{ }{\mathrm{sr}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ at...
Cross sections for the interaction $\nu_\mu A\rightarrow\mu^-\pi^0 X$ with neutrino energies between 1 and 5~GeV are measured using a sample of 165k selected events collected in NOvA experiment's Near Detector, hydrocarbon-based detector exposed to NuMI beam at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Results presented as flux-averaged total cross section differential momenta angles outgoing muon $\pi^0$, four-momentum transfer, invariant mass hadronic system. Comparisons made predictions from...
We report the rate of cosmic ray air showers with multiplicities exceeding 15 muon tracks recorded in NOvA Far Detector between May 2016 and 2018. The detector is located on surface under an overburden 3.6 meters water equivalent. observe a seasonal dependence multiple-muon showers, which varies magnitude multiplicity zenith angle. During this period, effective atmospheric temperature pressure ranged 210 K 230 940 mbar 990 mbar, respectively; shower rates are anticorrelated variation...
Abstract In the High–Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL–LHC), one of most challenging computational problems is expected to be finding and fitting charged-particle tracks during event reconstruction. The methods currently in use at LHC are based on Kalman filter. Such have shown robust provide good physics performance, both trigger offline. order improve we explored Kalman-filter-based for track fitting, adapted many-core SIMD (single instruction, multiple data) SIMT thread) architectures....
In this paper we document the current analysis software training and onboarding activities in several High Energy Physics (HEP) experiments: ATLAS, CMS, LHCb, Belle II DUNE. Fast efficient of new collaboration members is increasingly important for HEP experiments as analyses related become ever more complex with growing datasets. A meeting series was held by Software Foundation (HSF) 2022 to showcase their initiatives. Here analyse these an attempt determine a set key considerations future...
Neutrinos are particles that interact rarely, so identifying them requires large detectors which produce lots of data. Processing this data with the computing power available is becoming more difficult as increase in size to reach their physics goals. In liquid argon time projection chambers (TPCs) charged from neutrino interactions ionization electrons drift an electric field towards a series collection wires, and signal on wires used reconstruct interaction. The MicroBooNE detector...

Abstract In high energy physics (HEP), analysis metadata comes in many forms—from theoretical cross-sections, to calibration corrections, details about file processing. Correctly applying is a crucial and often time-consuming step an analysis, but designing systems has historically received little direct attention. Among other considerations, ideal tool should be easy use by new analysers, scale large data volumes diverse processing paradigms, enable future reinterpretation. This document,...
