The purpose of the present study was to investigate static stretching and dynamic protocol.
This study aimed to develop and assess additional effects of brief self-exercise education (brief-See) for individuals with chronic low back pain (CLBP). The brief-See comprised 100-minute consultation, individualized program, direct short teaching. We conducted a 6-month, community-based, randomized, parallel-group trial in community setting, allocated into or material-based alone. Pain intensity (NRS, numeric rating scale), functional limitation (RDQ, Roland-Morris disability...
While the prevalence of post-disaster musculoskeletal pain has been documented, its associated disaster-related factors have not investigated. This study was to investigate association lifestyle with after Great East Japan Earthquake. We conducted a cross-sectional 34,919 participants, aged 40-89 years, without any major disabilities at about 1 year disaster. The participants were asked their (low back and limb pain) factors: use evacuation shelters or temporary housing point time, job loss...
Chronic low back pain (CLBP), defined as persisting for at least 3 months, leads to limitations in the activities of daily living and decreased quality life. Individualized self-exercise education could be a preferable treatment option, especially community-dwelling people with CLBP. Previous studies, however, did not directly compare effects therapist-led material-only education, there are only few studies investigating low-dose (comprising sessions) on We present protocol community-based,...
To investigate the effects of high-intensity interval exercise training on microvascular endothelial function among community-dwelling older people. We analyzed data from a nonrandomized controlled trial. This study's participants were 48 men (aged 75 ± 5 years; group, n = 24; control 24) and 83 women 4 36; 47). The group underwent walking for months. In 100% 91.7% women, respectively, achieved brisk times ≥50 min/week. change in reactive hyperemia index significantly differed between groups...
[Purpose] We sought to clarify factors leading the elimination of a fear falling.[Subjects] Forty females with femoral bone fracture were subjects our study.[Methods] The fall efficacy and motor psychological functions 40 patients following proximal femur due measured weekly from week 1 4. These then divided into two groups.[Results] There differences between 2 groups in terms MFES scores state anxiety during 2, 3, Comparison 4 indicated that both had improved function no scores.[Conclusion]...
ABSTRACT Objectives Effective brief instructions for self-management of chronic knee pain are needed. Methods Forty-six participants with were randomly allocated into two programmes: material-based education alone or self-exercise (brief-See), which comprised a 100-minute instruction combined compact education. Total function (KOOS4, 4-subscale average injury and osteoarthritis outcome score), intensity (NRS, numeric rating scale), self-efficacy (PSEQ, questionnaire), health-related quality...
The association between overweight and chronic musculoskeletal pain may vary by anatomical site be modified hypertension status. This study examined the associations low back knee pains their effect modification status. We conducted a community-based cross-sectional involving 2,845 adults (1,080 men 1,765 women) aged 40-89 years. Chronic (CKP) (CLBP) lasting more than 3 months were categorized into or less severe pain. Odds ratios (ORs) 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of CKP CLBP determined...
Low back and knee pain, as major symptoms early signs of osteoarthritis, have restricted healthy life expectancy, numerous guidelines recommended therapeutic exercise the first-line treatment for chronic pain. Proportions medical consultation use those pain been unclear, these may change in future. We performed a cross-sectional study 2,954 persons aged over 30 years 2017 part Circulatory Risk Communities Study. A generalized linear model with logit link 11-year age-group moving averages...
[Purpose] This study investigated the factors affecting fear of falling in patients with femoral proximal fracture. [Subjects and Methods] The participants were 26 fracture (3 males 23 females, average age: 80.2 ± 7.9 years). Fall self-efficacy, motor functions, pain intensity measured 4 weeks post-surgery, divided into three groups based on their scores Falls Efficacy Scale. [Results] group low fall self-efficacy was significantly older experienced stronger than high did. In a multivariate...
Tooth loss is one of the most important factors in preventing development dementia aging societies.Although numerous studies focusing on this relationship have been conducted, few investigated between oral function and dementia. Therefore, present study, we examined cognitive functions elderly population. This study included 108 residents Takatsuki City aged 65 years or older. We analyzed jaw based each individual's tooth periodontal condition. In addition, used Japanese version Mini-Mental...
Objective: Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) has been noted as an effective pre- contraction for increase of neural and muscle factors during twitch contractions. However, it is unknown if this intervention the rate force development (RFD), which ability to joint torque strength quickly possible, tetanic NMES can be safely used by anyone, but, setting requires attention so not cause pain. Therefore, purpose study investigated whether at less painful levels was RFD We also effect...
BACKGROUND: The hypotensive effects of high-intensity interval training have been reported; however, studies on older adults are few. This study aimed to examine whether interval-walking (IWT), a home-based program training, reduces blood pressure (BP) levels when compared with non-intervention group in community-dwelling adults.METHODS: An intervention was conducted 55 men (age, 75±5 years; IWT/control groups, N.=27/28) and 100 women (75±5 N.=47/53). IWT regimen as follows: fast...
Chronic low back pain (CLBP) and knee (CKP) has been understood as aggravating factors for essential locomotive functions such gait or stair climbing among old age population. Several studies in the western countries have indicated association between CLBP and/or CKP obesity, however these relationships remained unclear Asian countries, where prevalence of obesity relatively low. The aim present study was to investigate associations with overweight Japanese elderly. We performed a...
