Polymerization of D,L-lactide was performed in bulk at 160°C the presence bismuth (III) subsalicylate catalyst. Kinetics reaction studied by differential scanning calorimetry isothermal mode and catalyst concentrations 2500, 5000, 7500 ppm. It shown that has a high activity: under this conditions an equilibrium conversion 96% achieved 20–30 min, molecular weight resulting poly(D,L-lactide) reached 118 kDa.
