Fluoroquinolones are known widely used synthetic antibacterial agents. Generally, there were some obstacles associated with their therapeutic use. Moreover, many research studies all over the world proved variable biological effects of fluoroquinolones such as antituberculosis, anticancer, or even antiviral activities. The current review is focused on modifications that occurred in fluoroquinolone scaffold for repositioning from into anticancer agents especially at C-7 carboxylic C-3 groups....
Abstract Eleven novel ciprofloxacin–pyrazolopyrimidine hybrids 4 a – k were synthesized and structurally elucidated using NMR, elemental analysis, mass spectrometry. The antibacterial screening showed that the newly compounds revealed remarkable shifting of activity from Gram–negative toward Gram–positive bacteria. Most displayed good to excellent against Staph aureus ATCC 6538 especially g which MICs 12.5 6.25 μ g/ml, respectively, compared ciprofloxacin MIC, 25 g/ml as reference drug. In...
Despite the wealth of knowledge available on diversity methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains that belonged to different clones, there have been no reports analyzed such isolates belonging same clone. This study aimed determine ST239-MRSA strains, predominant MRSA clone in worldwide, and illustrate correlation between toxin genes, antimicrobial resistances genetic background these strains. The molecular epidemiology was by phenotypic antibiotyping, various genotypic...
Abstract Background Post discectomy discitis is regarded as the most disabling cause of failed back surgery. Value local intra-operative application antibiotics in prevention such complication has been a matter debate. We evaluate role intraoperative intra-discal vancomycin powder instillation prophylaxis postoperative patients undergoing microscopic discectomy. allocated 100 equally into two groups. In first group, Vancomycin was inserted disc space after finishing discectomy, and second...
Background: Cervical spondylosis is a chronic degenerative process of the cervical spine that affects vertebral bodies and intervertebral discs neck may progress into disc herniation, bone spur formation, compression spinal cord. The majority disorders are self-limited be treated non-operatively.Objective: To compare implantation empty polyethylethylketone cage versus with graft in Anterior discectomy fusion regarding clinical improvement & radiological rate subsidence.Patients Methods: 48...
Abstract Background Lumboperitoneal (LP) shunting is an effective treatment option aiming at cerebrospinal fluid diversion in cases of idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Confirming the distal end position, on other hand, could be technically difficult, especially obese people. With minimal invasive procedures, laparoscopic-assisted placement peritoneal side LP shunt became a valid option. In this study, we aim to evaluate operation duration, possible complications, and patient outcomes...
Background: Meningiomas are common extra-axial primary brain tumors, which originate from the arachnoid cap cells. It's possible that intracranial meningiomas can be managed non-surgically.Objective: The aim of current study was to evaluate non-surgical management better guide decision-making.Patients and methods: A retrospective analytical conducted at Department Neurosurgery in Faculty Medicine Zagazig University.A total 53 patients, with 57 were enrolled study.Patients divided into 2...
Abstract Catalyzed by triethylamine (Et 3 N), 4-hydrazino-quinolin-2-one and 2-(1-ethoxy-substituted-ene)malononitrile were refluxed together in ethanol to give 5-amino-3-subsituted-1-(subsitituted-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinolin-4-yl)-1 H -pyrazole-4-carbonitriles. The structures of the products elucidated using 1 NMR, 13 C mass spectra along with elemental analyses. 2D NMR spectroscopy was also used differentiate assigned from other possible ring systems regioisomers. A plausible mechanism for...
