The slowing-down of the dynamics a polymer chain near surface has been observed for many years now. Here we show that behavior model nanocomposites can be quantitatively described with gradient glass-transition temperature. We describe single parameter---the range this gradient---the temperature and solvent effect on spin relaxation dynamics. Moreover, parameter allows quantitative description nanocomposite calorimetric response from one bulk polymer.

The response of twelve rice varieties against six salinity levels (0, 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 dS m-1) were studied at germination early seedling stages. Data analyzed using SAS means separated by LSD for final percentage (FGP), speed (SG), energy (GE%), plumule radical length dry weight. Based on matter yield reduction, classified as tolerant (T), moderately (MT), susceptible (MS) or (S). Germination was completely arrested m-1 salt concentration. Salinity decreased FGP, SG, GE % led to...

Ethylene, the simplest gaseous plant growth regulator (PGR), controls diverse physiological pathways in plants. Under various stress conditions and during different developmental stages, such as root elongation, leaf flower senescence, seed germination, tissue differentiation organ abscission, ethylene biosynthesis is significantly increased. In rice, internal concentration rapidly regulated to a genetically, physiologically morphologically relevant level under stresses. Regulation of...

High colloidal stability in aqueous conditions is a prerequisite for fluorescent nanocrystals, otherwise known as "quantum dots", intended to be used any long-term bioimaging experiment. This essential property implies strong affinity between the nanoparticles themselves and ligands they are coated with. To further improve properties of bidentate monozwitterionic ligand previously developed our team, we synthesized multidentate polyzwitterionic ligand, issued from copolymerization monomer...

Upland rice is important for sustainable crop production to meet future food demands. The expansion in area of irrigated faces limitations due water scarcity resulting from climate change. Therefore, this research aimed identify potential genotypes and suitable traits upland germplasm breeding programmes. Forty-three were evaluated a randomised complete block design with three replications. All exhibited wide significant variation 22 traits. highest phenotypic genotypic coefficient was...

Genetic diversity is prerequisite for any crop improvement program as it helps in the development of superior recombinants. Fifty Malaysian upland rice accessions were evaluated 12 growth traits, yield and components. All traits significant highly among accessions. The higher magnitudes genotypic phenotypic coefficients variation recorded flag leaf length-to-width ratio, spikelet fertility, days to flowering. High heritability along with high genetic advance was registered plant, flowering,...

Rust is the most devastating fungal disease in wheat. Three rust diseases, namely, leaf or brown caused by Puccinia triticina Eriks, stem black graminis f. sp. tritici West, and stripe yellow striiformis Tritici are economically significant common diseases among global wheat cultivars. Growing cultivars resistant to sustainable, cost-effective environmentally friendly approach for controlling diseases. To date, more than 187 resistance genes (80 rust, 58 49 rust) have been derived from...

Five Malaysian rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties, MR33, MR52, MR211, MR219, and MR232, were tested in pot culture under different salinity regimes for biochemical response, physiological activity, grain yield. Three levels of salt stresses, namely, 4, 8, 12 dS m(-1), used a randomized complete block design with four replications glass house conditions. The results revealed that the chlorophyll content, proline, sugar soluble protein, free amino acid, yield per plant all genotypes influenced...

Long-term inspection of biological phenomena requires probes elevated intra- and extracellular stability target biospecificity. The high fluorescence photostability quantum dot (QD) nanoparticles contributed to foster their promise as bioimaging tools that could overcome limitations associated with traditional fluorophores. However, QDs' potential a platform relies upon precise control over the surface chemistry modifications these nano-objects. Here, zwitterion-vinylimidazole block...
