Chitosan has been a popular option for tissue engineering, however exhibits limited function bone regeneration due to its low mechanical robustness and non-osteogenic inductivity. Here we hybridized chitosan with TiO2 nanoparticles improve capability. Morphology crystallographic analysis showed that in anatase-type were distributed evenly on the surface of sponges. Degradation test significant effect addition retaining integrity. Biomineralization assay using simulated body fluid apatite...

We present a facile method to produce silica nanoparticles as superhydrophobic material which has been successfully synthesized by mechanical milling and the sol–gel method. The powder obtained was characterized using scanning electronic microscopy, X-Ray Diffraction, particle size distribution, zeta potential. effects of alcohol solvents on synthesis, such size, potential, were examined thoroughly. To evaluate surface modification from hydrophilic hydrophobic properties, IR spectra applied....

Hydrophobic curcumin in temulawak extract and hydrophilic betacyanin red dragon fruit are high-value bioactive compounds with extensive applications functional food. In this study, these extracts were encapsulated water-in-oil-in-water (w/o/w) nanoemulsions as a delivery system using two-step high-energy emulsification method. PGPR Span 20 used lipophilic emulsifiers for the primary w/o emulsion. The most stable w/o/w formulation least oil phase separation of 5% v/v consisted emulsion (15%...

Biodiesel is a renewable plant-based fuel as an alternative for fossil diesel which has many advantages. However, its high content of unsaturated fatty acid causes oxidation instability during storage. Numerous additives have been used and developed to overcome this problem such the application phenolic compound-based antioxidants. Pyrogallol reported be one best antioxidants biodiesel. Unfortunately, pyrogallol low solubility in oil solution. In research, increased by preparing derivative...

Bamboo based activated carbon (AC) was modified by attaching silver (AC-Ag) and copper (AC-Cu) nano-particles to reduce the low-concentration of formaldehyde in air. Batch isotherm tests were performed determine adsorption capacity each carbon. At equilibrium concentration 8 ppm, AC-Cu adsorbed 29% higher amount as compared original AC. The highest loading obtained for AC-Ag, being around 0.425 mg/g AC-Ag. removed AC-Ag 1.6 times than virgin AC at same concentration.
