The present work numerically investigates the dynamics of an elastic two-dimensional cantilever plate fixed at bottom wall a channel carrying flow using open-source multi-physics computational fluid solver, SU2. Chief non-dimensional parameters, viz., Cauchy number (Ca), height, and mass ratio, are explored to predict structural response interacting with laminar parabolic profile in relatively low Reynolds numbers (Re=20−120). For steady inflow, we show existence two distinctive modes...
This study investigates the fluid-structure interactions of a flapping plate within square cavity under four distinct boundary conditions, where two opposing walls are heated isothermally, and others adiabatic. These configurations defined as case 1 (cooled side walls), 2 top bottom 3 (heated cooled wall), 4 wall wall). The effects non-dimensional parameters, including Rayleigh number (Ra), Cauchy (Ca), mass ratio (β) on dynamics convective heat transfer analyzed. Numerical investigations...
Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a genetic disorder that causes red blood cells (RBCs) to deform into sickle shape, leading vaso-occlusion and impaired flow. This study develops mathematical model investigate the mechanical forces chemical reactions involved in restoring shape memory of sickled RBCs. We examined effects various compositions on RBC morphology, elasticity, functionality. Our results demonstrated optimal can significantly restore RBCs improve their oxygen-carrying capacity....
The response of an aquatic plant and elastic fiber in oscillatory flow field induced by gravity waves is studied. flexible structure behaves like a driven harmonic oscillator. In the limit drag-dominated oscillations, frequency structures exhibits no resonance. Our results show that natural settings, oscillations such slender biological are generally regime hence sharp resonance unlikely.
Swirling flows for combustion stabilization, flame confinement, and proper fuel mixing recirculation are prevalent in gas turbine combustor applications. Modern turbines use swirlers to induce strong rotating vortices of the gases enhance efficiency stability. This study presents an experimental investigation flow field wall heat transfer characteristics inside a model annular equipped with radial swirlers. 2D Particle Image Velocimetry (2D-PIV) was used characterize model. PIV measurements...
Atmospheric electrical conductivities have been monitored at a coastal site having large deposit of radioactive minerals. Conductivities were also two other sites, one and the inland, both non-radioactive. The ratio conductivity to that others is about 6, in agreement with radioactivity. diurnal variation pattern this May, pre-monsoon month, agrees known radon concentration air. However, June, monsoon it different, double oscillation similar sites. With onset monsoon, shows decrease, which...
Heat pipes frequently encounter challenges in effectively returning condensed liquid from the condenser to evaporator through capillary pumping, which limits their overall efficacy. When pumping becomes irrelevant due factors like an absent wick or overfilling, heat pipe is more properly termed a thermosyphon. In close-to-horizontal orientation, driving force for return thermosyphon relies on difference pool depth between and condenser. An excessively deep can hinder radial transfer,...
