To investigate the safety, feasibility, and efficacy of left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) with AMPLATZER Cardiac Plug (ACP) for stroke prevention in patients fibrillation (AF).Data from consecutive treated 22 centres were collected. A total 1,047 included study. Procedural success was 97.3%. There 52 (4.97%) periprocedural major adverse events. Follow-up complete 1,001/1,019 (98.2%) successfully implanted (average 13 months, 1,349 patient-years). One-year all-cause mortality 4.2%. No...

The presence of severe calcific atherosclerosis at the iliofemoral axis may preclude transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) by transfemoral (TF) approach. Intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) is a novel technology that fractures intimal/medial calcium and increases vessel compliance allowing TF TAVI in selected patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD).The aim this study was to report on safety efficacy IVL-assisted an all-comers population.Clinical, imaging procedural data all...

Percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) may be considered for stroke prophylaxis in patients with non-valvular fibrillation (NVAF). Data on device implantation safety and feasibility long-term follow-up are limited.LAAO was performed using the AMPLATZER Cardiac Plug (ACP) 134 NVAF OAC contraindication, median (interquartile range) CHA2DS2-VASc HAS-BLED scores of four (3-5) three (2-3.75), respectively. Follow-up data were collected over a mean period 680 days (range: 42 to 4.3...

The authors describe a transcatheter mitral valve-in-valve-in-valve (VIVIV) for the correction of degenerated in surgical bioprosthesis, challenging interventional scenario that will be increasingly frequent near future. key steps taken were as follows: preprocedural planning integrating data from transesophageal echocardiogram, cardiac computed tomography, and 3mensio reconstruction (Pie Medical Imaging); transfemoral transseptal VIVIV performed with EchoNavigator system (Philips) guidance;...

Abstract Objectives Aim of this study is to evaluate safety, feasibility, and mid‐term outcome transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) in cardiogenic shock (CS). Background Balloon valvuloplasty patients with severe stenosis (SAS) complicated by CS indicated but associated a grim prognosis. TAVI might be more reasonable treatment option setting data are scant. Methods From March 2008 February 2019, 51 valvulopathy (native SAS or degenerated bioprosthesis) treated 11 European centers...

Patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure is superior to medical therapy alone prevent stroke recurrence in selected patients. Small cortical infarcts and large right left shunts seem identify patients who will benefit most from closure. We aimed study the correlation between size of PFO volume cerebral ischemic lesions young with cryptogenic stroke.PFO dimensions acute lesion 20 patients, aged<55 years, were analyzed transesophageal echocardiography brain magnetic resonance imaging, respectively....

Stroke incidence after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) still represents a concern. This multicentre study aimed at investigating the hypothesis that CHADS2 and CHA2DS2-VASc scores may be used to predict perioperative stroke TAVI. The Italian Transcatheter Balloon-Expandable Valve Implantation Registry (ITER) is multicentre, prospective registry of patients undergoing balloon-expandable TAVI using Edwards Sapien XT prosthesis between 2007 2012. primary end-point this was 30-day...
