Transition and noble metal clusters have proven to be critical novel materials, potentially offering major advantages over conventional catalysts in a range of value-added catalytic processess such as carbon dioxide transformation methanol. In this work, systematic computational study CO2 adsorption on gas-phase Cu4-xPtx (x = 0-4) is performed. An exhaustive potential energy surface exploration initially performed using our recent density functional theory basin-hopping global optimization...

This work reports on two thiourea-based receptors with pyridine and amine units including 1-naphthyl (MT1N) 4-nytrophenyl (MT4N) as signaling units. For both compounds, their affinity ability toward various anions of different geometry basicity in DMSO were studied using UV–vis, fluorescence, 1H NMR techniques. Anion recognition studies revealed that MT1N MT4N have, general, high affinities basic anions. In this regard, a higher acidity the receptor was demonstrated. Furthermore, has for...

This work reports on the synthesis and characterization of three tritopic receptors their binding properties toward various anions, as tetrabutylammonium salts, alkali metal-acetate salts by UV-vis, fluorescence, 1H, 7Li, 23Na, 39K NMR in MeCN/dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) 9:1 (v/v). Molecular recognition studies showed that have good affinity for oxyanions. Furthermore, these compounds are capable ion-pair studied through a cooperative mechanism. Additionally, molecular modeling at density...

A series of bis-N-substituted tetrandrine derivatives carrying different aromatic substituents attached to both nitrogen atoms the natural alkaloid were studied with double-stranded model DNAs (dsDNAs) examine binding properties and mechanism. Variable-temperature molecular recognition studies using UV-vis fluorescence techniques revealed thermodynamic parameters, ΔH, ΔS, ΔG, showing that exhibit high affinity toward dsDNA (K ≈ 105-107 M-1), particularly bis(methyl)anthraquinone (BAqT)...
