We present an overview of the first data release (DR1) and first-look science from Green Bank Ammonia Survey (GAS). GAS is a Large Program at Telescope to map all Gould Belt star-forming regions with $A_V \gtrsim 7$ mag visible northern hemisphere in emission NH$_3$ other key molecular tracers. This includes for four clouds: B18 Taurus, NGC 1333 Perseus, L1688 Ophiuchus, Orion A North Orion. compare dust continuum Herschel, find that two tracers correspond closely. over 60\% lines-of-sight...
We present deep NH$_3$ observations of the L1495-B218 filaments in Taurus molecular cloud covering over a 3 degree angular range using K-band focal plane array on 100m Green Bank Telescope. The form an interconnected, nearby, large complex extending 8 pc. observed (1,1) and (2,2) with spectral resolution 0.038 km/s spatial 31$"$. Most ammonia peaks coincide intensity dust continuum maps at 350 $\mu$m 500 $\mu$m. deduced physical properties by fitting model to spectra. find gas kinetic...
In this study, an automatic control technology for liquid-hydrogen zero boil-off was developed to improve the long-term storage capability of small-scale liquefaction systems. An innovative system capable monitoring both pressure within heat pipe and LH 2 vessel developed. This approach ensures continuous efficiency reduces downtime, significantly improving overall performance hydrogen process. The optimal conditions were obtained through a cycle test in ON/OFF mode. addition, experimental...
We use gas temperature and velocity dispersion data from the Green Bank Ammonia Survey core masses sizes James Clerk Maxwell Telescope Gould Belt to estimate virial states of dense cores within Orion A molecular cloud. Surprisingly, we find that almost none are sufficiently massive be bound when considering only balance between self-gravity thermal non-thermal motions present in gas. Including additional pressure binding imposed by weight ambient cloud material smaller terms, however,...
The presence of over 300 molecules in the interstellar medium, majority which are organic compounds, raises question extent to protostellar chemistry is responsible for Solar System bodies (e.g., comets, asteroids, planets). systematic surveys cold cores have focused on TMC-1 core Taurus complex, along with lesser other northern hemisphere facilitated by several telescopes available below 45 GHz, where most relatively strong emission under conditions cores. A few southern sources been...
In this study, the experimental investigations for production of liquid hydrogen were conducted using a manufactured condensing-type liquefaction device. A direct-cooling type liquefier was designed, fabricated, and tested commercially available cryo-coolers, heat pipe, ortho-para converter, LN2 shield, pre-cooler. order to effectively carry out in presence two cryo-coolers shield addition small-scale system, study introduced new system based on cryogenic techniques. The could be achieved...
We present the observation and analysis of newly discovered coherent structures in L1688 region Ophiuchus B18 Taurus. Using data from Green Bank Ammonia Survey (GAS), we identify regions high density near-constant, almost-thermal, velocity dispersion. Eighteen are revealed, twelve six B18, each which shows a sharp "transition to coherence" dispersion around its periphery. The identification these provides chance study molecular clouds statistically. identified have typical radius 0.04 pc...
Abstract Dynamical studies of dense structures within molecular clouds often conclude that the most massive clumps contain too little kinetic energy for virial equilibrium, unless they are magnetized to an unexpected degree. This raises questions about how such a state might arise, and it persist long enough represent population clumps. In effort reexamine origins this conclusion, we use ammonia line data from Green Bank Ammonia Survey Planck-calibrated dust emission Herschel estimate masses...
ABSTRACT Studies of dense core morphologies and their orientations with respect to gas flows the local magnetic field have been limited only a small sample cores spectroscopic data. Leveraging Green Bank Ammonia Survey alongside existing sub-millimeter continuum observations Planck dust polarization, we produce cross-matched catalogue 399 estimates morphology, size, mass, specific angular momentum, orientation. Of cores, 329 exhibit 2D vLSR maps that are well fit linear gradient, consistent...
Abstract We present deep CCS and HC 7 N observations of the L1495-B218 filaments in Taurus molecular cloud obtained using K -band focal plane array on 100 m Green Bank Telescope. observed J = 2 1 –1 0 21−20 with a spectral resolution 0.038 km s −1 an angular 31″. strong emission both evolved young regions weak two regions. is only L1495A-N L1521D. find that intensity peaks do not coincide NH 3 or dust continuum peaks. also fractional abundance does show clear correlation dynamical...
Abstract We use Green Bank Ammonia Survey observations of NH 3 (1, 1) and (2, 2) emission with 32″ FWHM resolution from a ∼10 pc 2 portion the Cepheus-L1251 molecular cloud to identify hierarchical dense gas structures. Our dendrogram analysis data results in 22 top-level structures, which reside within 13 lower-level parent The structures are compact <?CDATA $(0.01\,\mathrm{pc}\lesssim {R}_{\mathrm{eff}}\lesssim 0.1\,\mathrm{pc})$?> spatially correlated highest H column density portions...
The work involves a three-dimensional numerical analysis of the buoyancy-driven heat transfer in an enclosure having four heated cylinders for Rayleigh number, Ra = 104-106, and Prandtl Pr 0.7. An in-house direct simulation code, finite volume-based immersed boundary method incorporates inner cylinder's virtual wall computes governing transport equations. Heat flow characteristics at different spacing between are discussed by using vortices isotherms. effect on three-dimensionality features...
Abstract We present observations of the Trumpler 14/Carina I region carried out using Stratospheric Terahertz Observatory 2.
