To develop reliable models for the densities and viscosities of biodiesel fuel, data pure fatty acid esters are required. Densities were measured seven ethyl eight methyl esters, at atmospheric pressure temperatures from (273.15 to 363.15) K. A critical assessment against previously available in literature was carried out. It is shown that here reported presents deviations less than 0.15 % 5 viscosities. Correlations with temperature proposed. The used evaluate three predictive models. GCVOL...

Density is an important biodiesel parameter, with impact on fuel quality. Predicting density of high relevance for a correct formulation adequate blend raw materials that optimize the cost production while allowing produced to meet required quality standards. The aim this work present new data different biodiesels and use reported evaluate predictive capability models previously proposed predict or fatty acid methyl ester densities. Densities were measured here 10 samples, which detailed...

Biodiesels have several known components in their composition. The majority of is well described the literature, but a minority are poorly characterized. These however required to develop reliable models predict biodiesel behavior. This work considers minor biodiesel: polyunsaturated compounds (in C18), monounsaturated C16, C20, and C22), long-chain saturated esters. In this work, densities viscosities pure fatty acid ester fuel were measured (three ethyl esters seven methyl esters), at...

The solubilities of tetracycline hydrochloride, moxifloxacin and ciprofloxacin hydrochloride were measured in several solvents, such as water, ethanol, 2-propanol, acetone, the temperature range 293.15−323.15 K for ciprofloxacin.HCl moxifloxacin.HCl 288.15−310.15 tetracycline. All antibiotics have same solubility order; that is, they are more soluble water than ethanol 2-propanol acetone. is ∼3 orders magnitude higher modeling experimental solid−liquid equilibria (SLE) data, using NRTL...

The aim of this work is to establish a comparison between the solubility hydrochloride and non-hydrochloride forms ciprofloxacin tetracycline in relevant solvents. For that purpose solubilities were measured water, ethanol, 2-propanol, acetone, temperature range 293.15 323.15 K for 288.15 303.15 tetracycline. obtained results compared with those part I study, published previously, where respective antibiotics same solvents investigated. water about 2 orders magnitude higher than base forms....

Viscosity is an important biodiesel parameter, subject to specifications and with impact on the fuel quality. A model that could predict value of viscosity a based knowledge its composition would be useful in optimization production processes planning blending raw materials refined products. This work aims at evaluating predictive capability several models previously proposed literature for description viscosities biodiesels their blend other fuels. The evaluated here are Ceriani's,...

Density is one of the most important biodiesel properties, because engine injection systems (pumps and injectors) must deliver an amount fuel precisely adjusted to provide a proper combustion while minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. The pressure influence in density has become particularly with increased use modern common rail systems, where pressures can reach 250 MPa. Nevertheless, besides its importance, little attention been given high-pressure densities. In fact, there are almost no...

Surface tension is one of the key properties that directly affects fuel atomization. A large value this property makes formation small droplets difficult, hampering correct atomization on engine combustion chamber. Despite its importance, there are very few data surface biodiesels or fatty acid esters from which composed and even less available temperature dependence. To overcome limitation, work reports experimental tensions for 10 biodiesel fuels in a wide range evaluates ability two...

Abstract Data for the mutual solubilities of fatty acid + water mixtures are scarce and so measurements seven (C 5 ‐C 10 , C 12 ) systems were carried out. This new experimental data was successfully modelled with cubic plus association EoS. Using from 6 to Elliot's cross‐associating combining rule a correlation k ij binary interaction parameter, as function chain length, is proposed. The acids can be adequately described average deviations inferior 6% rich phase 30% phase. Furthermore,...

Despite their interest for the understanding of low-temperature behavior biodiesel, data on phase equilibria biodiesels at temperatures below cloud point are not available in literature. To overcome this limitation, liquid- and solid-phase compositions fractions were studied three commercial diesels ranging from 260 to 275 K. A thermodynamic framework able describe these multiphase systems is presented. Two versions predictive UNIQUAC model along with an approach assuming complete...
