Recently, many studies concerning the environmental impact of ionic liquids (ILs) have shown that despite their unique properties and clear advantages in an ever wide range applications processes, ILs are not intrinsically green. In a search for biodegradable low toxicity, new type has been developed, deep eutectic solvents (DESs). this context, aim work is to provide accurate densities, viscosities, refractive indices DESs prepared using cholinium chloride as hydrogen bond acceptor several...
Interfacial tension (using a drop-shape analysis technique), fluorescence (of widely used spectroscopic molecular probe, pyrene), and 1H NMR measurements were to monitor the adsorption at aqueous solution–air interface self-aggregation behaviour (critical micelle concentration, CMC) of room-temperature ionic liquids (ionic liquids) 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium family cations, [Cnmim]+, with different linear alkyl chain lengths, CnH2n+1 (½n = 1–7), counter-ions, namely [Cnmim]Cl (n 2–14),...
The synthesis, characterisation and toxicological assessment of a new group environmentally friendly ionic liquids are presented. Focussing on the toxic effect anion, were designed by combining benign cholinium cation, [NMe3(CH2CH2OH)]+, with range linear alkanoate anions ([CnH2n+1CO2]−, n = 1-9), as well two structural isomers (n 3 or 4). toxicity these was evaluated using filamentous fungi model eukaryotic organisms. Surprisingly, most tested species showed active growth in media...
This review highlights the pyridinium salts in terms of their natural occurrence, synthesis, reactivity, biological properties, and diverse applications.
In the past few years, ionic liquids (ILs) with cyano-functionalized anions have shown to be improved candidates for electrochemical and separation applications. Nevertheless, only scattered data exist hitherto a broad analysis of their structure-property relationship has yet attempted. Therefore, in this work, systematic study densities, viscosities refractive indices imidazolium-based ILs was carried out at 0.1 MPa within temperature range (from 278 363 K). The under are based on...
Since determining experimentally a wide variety of thermophysical properties—even for very small portion the already known room temperature ionic liquids (and their mixtures and solutions)—is an impossible goal, it is imperative that reliable predictive methods be developed. In turn, these might offer us clues to understanding underlying ion–ion ion–molecule interactions. 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, one most thoroughly investigated liquids, together with water, greenest...
Molar enthalpies of vaporization, a homologous series 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethyl sulfonyl)imides, [Cnmim][NTf2], (with 2 ≤ n 8) were directly determined for the first time. The results obtained in this study emphasize and constitute clear experimental support novel concept that these liquid salts are composed polar nonpolar domains; is, they exhibit microphase segregation.
Experimental densities, isobaric heat capacities, and enthalpies of fusion for one sample 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate, [bmim][PF6], two samples bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [bmim][NTf2], are reported. Data were obtained at atmospheric pressure and, in the case density capacity, within temperature intervals (283.15 to 323.15) K (278.15 333.15) [bmim][PF6] respectively. A critical analysis effect impurities on measured thermodynamic properties is performed.
Excess molar volumes of six binary mixtures composed two ionic liquids the 1-methyl-3-alkyl-imidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)amide family([Cmmim] + [Cnmim])[NTf2] with n and m ranging from 2 to 10were measured for several compositions at 298 333 K. Similarly, three other systems containing [C4mim]+ (1-methyl-3-butylimidazolium) as a common cation have been studied: [C4mim]([NTf2] [PF6]), [BF4]) [C4mim]([BF4] [PF6]). Thus, mixing process distinct ions equal sign embedded in constant...
Ionic-liquid-based aqueous two-phase systems are great candidates for the replacement of volatile organic compounds in typical liquid–liquid extractions. This work shows clear evidence complete extraction alkaloids such as caffeine and nicotine using a single-step procedure.
A surprising mixed solvent effect, both in its magnitude and direction, has been found the phase diagram of ternary mixture ([C4mim][PF6] + (water ethanol)). For a molar ratio 1∶1 water to ethanol, co-solvent effect near-critical demixing temperature can be as large 80 K.
Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FTICR-MS) experiments showed that when aprotic ionic liquids vaporize under pressure and temperature conditions similar to those of a reduced-pressure distillation, the gas phase is composed discrete anion-cation pairs. The evolution spectrometric signals recorded during fractional distillations binary liquid mixtures allowed us monitor changes gas-phase composition relative volatility components. In addition, we have studied...
The current study focuses on 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, [bmim][BF4], and hexafluorophosphate, [bmim][PF6]. objective is to the influence of pressure as well that anion several properties this type ionic liquid. speed sound densities in pure liquids (ILs) a function temperature have been determined. Several other thermodynamic such compressibilities, expansivities, heat capacities obtained. To best our knowledge, research comprises both first data evaluation at high...
