Abstract A multicomponent, catalyst-free reaction for the synthesis of fused 6-amino-3-methyl-4-aryl-1H-pyrazolo [3,4-b] pyridine-5-carbonitrile from 3-amino-5-methylpyrazole, malononitrile, and substituted aldehydes under ultrasound irradiation in short times (8–10 min) with good yields (85–98%) is reported.

A novel method is reported for the synthesis of benzoxanthenone and 3‐pyranylindole derivatives via one‐pot three‐component reactions using a newly synthesized HAp‐encapsulated γ‐Fe 2 O 3 ‐supported dual acidic heterogeneous catalyst, as reusable highly efficient nanocatalyst. The synthesis and structural elucidation of some novel 5,5′‐disubstituted spiro nonspiro‐bis‐hydantoins are reported. Bucherer Burge's method has been modified for the preparation 5,5′‐substituted bis(imidazolidine‐2,4‐dione) derivatives starting with diketones ( 1–5 ) dialdehydes 6 , 7 ). In cases, diastereoisomeric mixtures compounds were obtained. resulting bis‐hydantoins 8–11 13 14 have not to our knowledge previously reported in literature.
