Crystal structures of transition and main group element 1,1-dithiolates are shown to be partially sustained by C–H⋯π(chelate) interactions. For the planar binary bisdithiocarbamates, C–H⋯π(MS2C) interactions lead aggregation patterns ranging from a 0-D four molecule aggregate 3-D architecture but with majority featuring 1-D or 2-D supramolecular assemblies.
A new route was developed for preparing a series of trans nitrosyl complexes general formula trans-[Ru(NH(3))(4)L(NO)](BF(4))(3), where L = imidazole, L-histidine, pyridine, or nicotinamide. The have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, UV-visible, infrared, proton nuclear magnetic, and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopies, electrochemical techniques. compounds possess relatively high nu(NO) stretching frequencies indicating that degree positive...
A simple and efficient metal-free methodology for the regioselective synthesis of 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles by applying a novel inverse electron-demand-1,3-dipolar cycloaddition approach has been developed.
Au⋯π interactions whereby the electron-rich π-system of C6-aromatic rings interact with gold are shown to exist in crystal structures both gold(I) and gold(III) complexes, have been revealed occur between neutral/neutral, cationic/cationic, cationic/anionic systems. Supramolecular aggregation facilitated by leads formation 0-dimensional aggregates, e.g. arising from an interaction a complex solvent molecule, loosely associated spherical cooperative centrosymmetrically related even extended...
A search of the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) was performed to identify Te⋯π-aryl interactions not reported before in literature. The examination distance between tellurium atoms and aryl group centroids analysis crystal packing, using deposited structure data, produced a list organotellurium compounds which showed variety Te⋯π bonding interactions. These include inter-ionic anion–cation ion pairs, intramolecular mono- di-nuclear covalent molecular compounds, as well dimeric tetrameric...
The insecticidal activity of hexane extracts from the roots and leaves Aristolochia malmeana was evaluated against Anticarsia gemmatalis larvae by topical application. Extract most active caused 50% mortality in at 308.4 µg/µL. From this extract, a clerodane diterpene, (−)-kolavenic acid, three lignans, (−)-kusunokinin, (−)-hinokinin, (8S,8′R,9S)-cubebin, were isolated chromatography partition procedures then for their activities either individually or pairs. (−)-Kusunokinin showed higher A....
As(lone pair)⋯π interactions provide stability to their crystal structures often leading supramolecular chains and prevailing over As⋯X secondary contacts. The interaction (ca 8 kJ mol−1) arises from polarisation induced in the aryl ring by As-lone pair plus weak sharing of these electrons with ring-C atoms.
M–carbonyl(lone pair)⋯π(aryl) interactions provide stability to their transition metal crystal structures. This supramolecular synthon usually leads zero- or one-dimensional aggregation patterns; a rare example of three-dimensional architecture based on the M–CO(lone has also been revealed.
Interactions of the type C–H⋯π(CuCl⋯HNCS), i.e. C–H⋯π(quasi-chelate ring) where a six-membered quasi-chelate ring is closed by an N–H⋯Cl hydrogen bond, are presented.
The pyridine‐based halogenated hydrazone derivatives ( E )‐ N ′‐benzylidene‐2‐[(6″‐chloroazin‐2″‐yl)oxy]acetohydrazide 6a ), ′‐(3′‐chlorobenzylidene)‐2‐[(6″‐chloroazin‐2″‐yl)oxy]acetohydrazide 6b ) and ′‐(3′‐bromobenzylidene)‐2‐[(6″‐chloroazin‐2″‐yl)oxy]acetohydrazide 6c have been obtained using 6‐chloro‐2‐hydroxypyridine. structure of the products – c has verified X‐ray crystallography spectroscopic approaches. A single‐crystal diffraction (SC‐XRD) investigation showed that structures are...
Herein, we introduce a mild and operationally simple visible-light photochemical protocol for the synthesis of novel glycopeptides mimetics. This method capitalizes on reaction between 1,4-dihydropyridine (DHP) containing amino acids peptides with glycosyl nitrones, showing exceptional stereoselectivity robust performance across diverse array substrates, encompassing both modified glycosides intricate peptide structures. Furthermore, underscore versatility resultant compounds through their...
The complex [Cu6(dmpymt)6]·H2O was synthesised by electrochemical oxidation of copper in an acetonitrile solution the neutral ligand 4,6-dimethylpyrimidine-2-thione (Hdmpymt). reaction [Cu6(dmpymt)6] with 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) and 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (dppe) yielded compounds general formulae [Cu(dmpymt)(dppm)] [Cu2(dmpymt)2(dppe)3]. molecular structure determined: crystals are triclinic, space group P1, a= 11.432(3), b= 13.395(2), c= 15.694(4)Å, α= 80.28(2),...
A survey of tellurium, tin and gold structures containing metal⋯π heteroaromatic interactions has been conducted, their occurrence correlated with previously described aryl interactions. Metal⋯π are found for all three metals when the ring was a pyridine/pyridine-derivative, these contacts lead usually to 0-D or 1-D aggregates rare examples 2-D 3-D architectures. For each tellurium tin, more likely form over pyridine interactions, while reverse is true in case gold. These observations...
Abstract What might very well be classified as a revolution in chemical crystallography is the emergence of crystal engineering discipline and pivotal role X-ray plays this [1]. Although dating back to 1950's, field has exploded last decade or so, now at forefront contemporary cognisant research. One areas greatest potential impact relates pharmaceutical industry – drug formulation intellectual property where issues relating crystallisation, polymorphism, etc. are paramount [2]. A focus...
Colloquially described as modern day “Gold Rush”, use of gold in catalysis is a research area attracting intensive and increasing attention. This evidenced, for example, by nearly exponential increase publications appearing the past decade field homogeneous with [1]. Molecular or form nanoparticles/thin films prove to be efficient catalysts offering benefits over other transition metals, properties that relate, no small part, electrophilic nature which, turn, correlated reduction energy 6s...
Crystal structures of the heavier main group elements in low oxidation states have been evaluated for presence supramolecular element(lp)⋯π(arene) interactions that are structure-directing. It is revealed when present, these lead to zero-dimensional, binuclear aggregates but higher-nuclearity species sometimes observed, with one-dimensional chains varying topology being prominent. By contrast, two-dimensional aggregation based on rare. In summary, metal lone-pairs aromatic rings as synthons...
