The critically endangered population of Far Eastern leopards ( Panthera pardus orientalis) may number as few 60 individuals and is at risk from stochastic processes such infectious disease. During May 2015, a case canine distemper virus (CDV) was diagnosed in wild leopard exhibiting severe neurologic disease the Russian territory Primorskii Krai. Amplified sequences CDV hemagglutinin gene phosphoprotein aligned within Arctic-like clade CDV, which includes viruses elsewhere Russia, China,...
Analyses of allozyme (18 loci) and partial mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequences (1295 bp, 16S rRNA) support the classification phoxinin minnows from northern Far East into 2 genera 8 species: Phoxinus phoxinus, Rhynchocypris oxycephalus, R. perenurus, czekanowskii, kumgangensis, semotilus, lagowskii sp. (bergi ?). Although Japan Amur basin Vladivostok region to Korea have been classified a single species by many authors as lagowskii, they form separate clusters in both analyses, suggesting...
Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) restriction analysis was used to examine the evolutionary and taxonomic relationships among 11 taxa of subfamily Salmoninae. The genera Brachymystax Hucho were closely related, diverging by sequence divergence estimates 3.1%. Because mtDNA between blunt‐ sharp‐snouted forms (2.24%) similar level , then taking into account distinct morphological, ecological allozyme differences them, it is possible recognize these as two separate species. subgenus Parahucho formed a...
