Abstract Tierra del Fuego, Argentina (55°S), receives increased solar ultraviolet‐B radiation (UV‐B) as a result of Antarctic stratospheric ozone depletion. We conducted field study to examine direct and indirect effects UV‐B on decomposition Gunnera magellanica , native perennial herb, the community decomposer organisms. In general, mostly occur due changes in chemical composition litter, whereas during from organisms and/or differences photochemical breakdown litter. designed...

Two new species, Koorchaloma scutiae and Ciliochorella buxifoliae , isolated from leaf litter of Scutia buxifolia forest are described, illustrated, discussed, compared with similar species. The specimens were collected in Magdalena, Buenos Aires province, Argentina. type deposited LPS. Keys provided to all species both genera.

Abstract α ‐L‐Rhamnosidases (EC 3.2.1.40) and β ‐D‐glucosidases 3.2.1.21) obtained from several microbial sources are potential catalysts in food, beverage, pharmaceutical industries. However, the enzyme preparations currently used have limitations related to stability activity of as well their reuse. A microtiter screening was carried out 55 fungal strains isolated alkaline soils, obtain active ‐L‐rhamnosidases at pH 9.0. While ‐L‐rhamnosidase detected 45% tested, ‐D‐glucosidase found only...

Lipids and their fatty acids were characterized quantified during the development of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Glomus versiforme in roots alfalfa (Medicago sativa). A net increase root total lipids was observed proportional to colonization. Triacylglycerols main lipid class colonized appear have been synthesized by fungi. The palmitoleic acid (characteristic triacylglycerols from fungus) with G. reinforced this suggestion. Phosphatidylethanolamine a minor extent phosphatidylcholine also...

93% alcalino-tolerantes dado...

Abstract The lipolytic activity of free and immobilized whole cells the pathogenic fungus Phoma glomerata was demonstrated, several properties lipase involved were determined. Free fungal small pieces cells, prepared by spontaneous colonization on a solid surface or entrapped in calcium alginate, incubated with triolein buffered medium. Different incubation conditions assayed to optimize reaction, determine effects heating time stability preparations course reactions. Although enzyme cleaves...

This study analysed the mycobiota on exoskeleton debris of crab Neohelice granulata collected from an alkaline salt marsh and assessed in vitro enzyme ability selected isolates at different temperatures pH. Exoskeleton fragments were incubated moist chambers paper agar medium. Growth fungi also evaluated media with 0.5 % casein, 1% Tween®20, Chitin-Azure® by production a halo/growth ratio. We identified 22 fungal species using both methods. Since two isolation methods added information to...
