ABSTRACT We examine whether chief executive officer compensation aligned with stakeholders' interests is associated enhanced corporate carbon transparency. Using an international sample obtained from the CDP, we find that transparency—as measured by both propensity to voluntarily disclose information and quality comprehensiveness of disclosure—is greater when managers' contracts are better stakeholder interests. Further analyses indicate this positive relationship stronger in countries or...

Summary To address the significant scaling challenges within near-wellbore formation of ultradeep natural gas reservoirs characterized by high temperature and salinity, we developed a dynamic prediction model. This model is specifically designed for in gas-water two-phase seepage fractured-matrix dual-porosity reservoirs. It accounts concentration effects resulting from evaporation water on ions. Our discretely solved using finite volume method. We also conducted on-site simulations wells,...

ABSTRACT We analyze the relationship between financial transparency and carbon based on ethical opportunistic perspectives. Our sample comprises 10,341 firm-year observations from firms in 55 countries or regions CDP (previously Carbon Disclosure Project) during period 2003–2015. measure both managerial propensity to publicly disclose information level comprehensiveness of voluntary disclosure. operationalize firms' earnings management (EM). find that our proxies are negatively associated...

Using acrylic acid advanced ester and styrene as raw materials, the long-chain polyester polymer, polyacrylic ester-styrene pour point depressant (P-PPD), was synthesized by molecular design, its structure characterized infrared spectroscopy nuclear magnetic resonance. In addition, this study experimentally investigated effect of P-PPD on phase equilibrium induction time natural gas hydrate inhibitors in deionized water (DW) crude oil/water (O/W) systems, respectively. Polyvinylpyrrolidone...

This study empirically investigates the role of political connections in corporate environmental spending. It employs a sample listed Chinese firms from polluting industries within 2010–2013 period. Our empirical results show that having politicians as directors reduces magnitude discharge fees. We also find such reductions are more pronounced with higher ratio politically connected (i.e., privately controlled). negative relationship is robust to various model specifications (e.g., after...

the interrelations among environmental performance, disclosure and corporate value, are basic issues of firm behavior. There different arguments in prior literatures. Based on investigation 145 listed chemical firms China, we obtain results (1) disclosures level is significantly associated with performance; (2) can not impact value significantly.

Acidic fracturing flowback fluid (AFFF) has the characteristics of low pH value, high chemical oxygen demand (COD), corrosiveness and complex components. Surface discharge without treatment may contaminate environment. However, wastewater after centralized transportation potential safety risks requires costs. In this study, we confirmed that calcium magnesium could affect cross-linking property prepared by fluid, conducted a three-step process, two-stage filtration, precipitation,...
