Current management of liver ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury is mainly based on supportive care and no specific treatment available. Irisin, a recently identified hormone, plays pivotal roles in energy expenditure oxidative metabolism; however, it remains unknown whether irisin has any protective effects hepatic I/R injury. In this study, we found that serum levels were markedly decreased at 24 h after I/R. Treatment with exogenous improved function, reduced necrosis cell apoptosis,...

Photonic bound states in the continuum (BIC) promise a versatile platform for construction of optical resonators with highly confined electromagnetic fields and ultralong radiative lifetime. Merging multiple BIC can enable suppression out-of-plane losses further boost quality (Q) factor resonance state. However, current studies on merging (M-BIC) are primarily restricted to elementary topological charge $\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1$, which hinders improvement performance resonators. Here,...

Abstract Numerous optical phenomena and applications have been enabled by nanophotonic structures. Their current fabrication from high refractive index dielectrics, such as silicon (Si) or gallium phosphide (GaP), pose restricting challenges while metals, relying on plasmons thus exhibiting ohmic losses, limit the achievable applications. An emerging class of layered, so‐called van der Waals (vdW), crystals is presented a viable nanophotonics platform in this work. The dielectric response 11...
