Blue carbon is the storage in vegetated coastal ecosystems such as mangroves, salt marshes, and seagrass. It gaining global attention its role climate change mitigation local welfare growth. However, a assessment on long-term spatiotemporal sustainable development status of blue has not been conducted, relations among ecosystems, driving forces for mitigation, socioeconomic interventions capacity scale are still unclear. Here, we constructed index (BCDI), comprising three subsystems: force,...

Details of the development coastal hypoxia in response to passage Typhoon Bavi (2020) East China Sea were reconstructed by numerical modeling using a three-dimensional coupled physical–biogeochemical model. The model was validated via repeated surveys along transect across submerged river valley off Changjiang Estuary before and after Bavi. Before Bavi’s arrival, survey data indicated that had formed Estuary. However, not eliminated but instead migrated aggravated observed typhoon passage....

Abstract The western boundary currents are characterized by abundant diazotrophs including Trichodesmium , which may fuel N 2 fixation when they intrude into marginal seas. Kuroshio, a current in the North Pacific, flows East China Sea (ECS) and southern Yellow (SYS), transports diatom‐diazotroph associations (DDAs). Additionally, low nitrogen:phosphorus (N:P) ratio relatively dissolved iron have been observed offshore ECS because of Kuroshio intrusion as well riverine/atmospheric inputs P...
