Background Fractional technology overcomes the problems of ablative lasers, such as inaccurate depth control and damage to epidermis. Minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency microneedle devices allow for more-selective heating dermis. Objective To evaluate clinical efficacy (ERM) treatment in acne scars large facial pores. Materials Methods Thirty patients with pores were enrolled. Bipolar energy was delivered skin through electrodes FRM device. Skin lesions evaluated according grade...

We present a new framework for simulating dynamic movements of complex hairstyles. The proposed framework, which treats hair as collection wisps, includes approaches to wisp and handling wisp-body collisions wisp-wisp interactions. For the simulation we introduce dynamics model, hybrid rigid multi-body, serial chain mass-spring models, formulate system using an implicit integration method. Consequently, simulator can impose collision/contact constraints systematically, allowing it handle...

Postburn pruritus is a common distressing sequela of burn wounds. Empirical antipruritic treatment often fails to have satisfactory outcome, as the mechanism it has not been fully elucidated. The aim this study was evaluate manifestation transient receptor potential vanilloid 3 (TRPV3), ankyrin 1 (TRPA1), and other related receptors in postburn pruritus. Sixty-five patients with (n = 40) or without 25) were investigated, including skin biopsies. Keratinocytes fibroblasts from biopsy samples...

Abstract This paper proposes a real‐time simulation technique for thin shells undergoing large deformation. Shells are objects such as leaves and papers that can be abstracted 2D structures. Development of satisfactory physical model runs in but produces visually convincing animation has been remaining challenge computer graphics. Rather than resorting to shell theory which involves the most complex formulations continuum mechanics, we adopt energy functions from discrete proposed by...

Abstract Color quantization replaces the color of each pixel with closest representative color, and thus it makes resulting image partitioned into uniformly‐colored regions. As a consequence, continuous, detailed variations over corresponding regions in original are lost through quantization. Additionally, present experimental results that assess numerical error bounds in authors’ own implementation analytic solution for ellipses. We report very rare cases where distances ellipses are erroneously calculated as zero, which is impossible given radii not zero.
