Individuals with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are at a heightened risk of sudden cardiac death, an outcome increased in those prolongation the corrected electrocardiographic QT interval (QTc). We compared QTc between patients RA and demographically matched controls studied change after treatment interleukin 6 inhibitor tocilizumab (TCZ).Standard 12-lead electrocardiograms were obtained was measured baseline 24 weeks TCZ treatment, then non-RA who frequency-matched on age sex. Indicators...
Abstract Aim To evaluate left ventricular (LV) dysfunction in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and to determine the impact of biological treatment on LV function these using global circumferential strain (GCS), longitudinal (GLS) radial (GRS) values assessed by feature tracking cardiac magnetic resonance (FT‐CMR) imaging. Methods Eighty RA 20 controls without cardiovascular disease underwent non‐contrast CMR Patients received conventional synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic...
The risk of clinically manifested major cardiovascular (CV) events in primary Sjögren syndrome (pSS) remains unclear. This study aimed to assess myocardial fibrosis pSS and investigate the associated disease characteristics by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (cMRI).We performed a cross-sectional patients with without symptoms. Labial gland biopsy was documented 44 (85%). Patients CV factors underwent contrast-enhanced cMRI. Late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) used fibrosis. Myocardial edema...
To evaluate subclinical left ventricular (LV) regional dysfunction in patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) using feature tracking cardiac magnetic resonance (FT-CMR) imaging and to identify pSS characteristics independently associated LV dysfunction.Fifty 20 controls without cardiovascular disease underwent non-contrast CMR imaging. Labial gland biopsy was performed 42 (84%). Disease activity assessed the European League Against Rheumatism index (ESSDAI). global longitudinal strain...
A 26-year-old woman presented with abdominal pain, diarrhoea, vomiting, fever, and progressive paralysis in the lower limbs. She had a history of bronchial asthma experienced sinusitis, peripheral neuropathy, polyarthritis, leukocytosis prominent eosinophilia. The patient was diagnosed eosinophilic granulomatosis polyangiitis (EGPA). Abdominal pain considered to be an ischaemic enteritis associated EGPA. administered 1,000 mg/day methylprednisolone for 3 days intravenous immunoglobulin (400...

Background
Individuals with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are at a 2-fold increased risk of sudden death compared age- and gender-matched controls without RA. Although mechanisms underlying the yet unclear, evidence indicates effects systemic inflammation on ventricular repolarization. Accordingly, corrected QT (QTc) interval prolongation is more frequent in patients RA than those A previous pilot study reported that tocilizumab (TCZ) normalizes QTc by dampening inflammation....

Background
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a multi-organ inflammatory disorder associated with high cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Importantly, cardiac involvements are typically clinically silent, only manifesting as myocardial abnormalities after an extended subclinical phase. Myocardial may arise from number of distinct processes, including inflammation (myocarditis), and/or fibrosis, any which be active in RA.
Objectives
We sought to assess involvement using...

Background
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is associated with an increased risk of congestive heart failure, possibly via shared mechanisms inflammation. This study was undertaken to test the hypothesis that powerful anti-inflammatory effect anti-interleukin 6 (tocilizumab: TCZ) therapy might lead a reduction in left ventricular (LV) dysfunction patients (pts) RA. To our knowledge, there are no published reports on use cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) for investigating LV...

Background
Polymyositis (PM) and dermatomyositis (DM) are inflammatory diseases; up to 70% affected patients (pts) show cardiac involvement, which may be fatal. However, the diagnosis, based on electrocardiogram, laboratory, imaging investigations, is difficult because of nonspecific clinical presentation lack standardized criteria. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) currently best technique for diagnosing fibrosis inflammation.
Objectives
To evaluate involvement in PM/DM pts...

Background
Individuals with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have a twofold higher risk of developing sudden death than age and gender matched controls without RA. The underlying mechanisms not yet been clarified.
Objectives
aim this study was to prospectively investigate the association myocardial involvement assessed by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) QTc interval in RA symptoms.
Methods
patients control subjects no history and/or clinical findings systemic...

Background
The TCZ treatment for RA is known that there a discrepancy within DAS remission and SDAI rate cause by the weight of gravity acute phase reactants. Especially strongly inhibits CRP which produced liver through IL-6. Therefore even if we meet to remission; come across cases occasionally who have not been sufficiently suppressed clinically. Considering this, examined difference background factors in addition remission.
Objectives
To compare patients with showed...
