Abstract In recent times, the field of artificial intelligence (AI) has been transformed by introduction large language models (LLMs). These models, popularized OpenAI’s GPT-3, have demonstrated emergent capabilities AI in comprehending and producing text resembling human language, which helped them transform several industries. But its role yet to be explored nuclear industry, specifically managing radiation emergencies. The present work explores LLMs’ contextual awareness, natural...

Abstract In this submission we opine on India adopting a rather stringent maximum single year dose limit, instead of harmonizing with international standards. We explore how limits evolved, why has opted for lower effective limit 30 mSv and argue that raising to at least 50 mSv, in line International Commission Radiological Protection (ICRP) recommendations, would not only contribute upcoming revised ICRP publications but also support the realization India’s nuclear ambitions.

Root rot (caused by Phytophthora cinnamomi) and chestnut blight Cryphonectria parasitica) are the two most destructive diseases affecting American chestnut, Castanea dentate. Therefore, breeding for resistance to both pathogens simultaneously is essential before can be restored its full native range. Using combined genetic genomic approaches, C. parasitica (Cp) has been mapped three quantitative trait loci (QTLs) in chestnut. In addition, a marker set covering genome generated implementation...

The world today stands at a critical juncture, grappling with the profound and far-reaching impacts of climate change. increasing frequency extreme weather events, rising sea levels, deteriorating ecosystems only serve to underscore urgency transitioning low-carbon economy. Governments across globe are intensifying their policies, striving meet ambitious goals set forth in international agreements such as Paris Agreement. Central these efforts is systematic decarbonization national energy...

India's rapid development and expanding population have intensified the need for sustainable energy solutions. This is particularly significant in addressing growing disparity access between urban rural communities. As country shifts from traditional fossil-fuel-based power generation to cleaner technologies, nuclear poised play an increasingly vital role. Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) represent a promising option meet these demands decentralized environmentally friendly manner, especially...

Nuclear power plants have been often considered as some of the most environmentally friendly generation technologies. Their long operating life, negligible operational emissions and high-power density highlighted their energy security environmental sustainability well. However, apprehensions still lie amongst population policy makers regarding radioactive nature discharges from nuclear impact on health environment. To alleviate such concerns, this study, for first time, presents analysis...

Abstract Energy is the need for future, and to fulfill this need, use of renewable energy a must. Furthermore, counter problem global warming climate change, transition toward unconventional sources requirement. Total majorly used in three sectors, namely, heating cooling, transport, electricity; however, growth among these sectors are different. In article, we discuss potential challenges associated with their large-scale deployment, possible solutions.

Emergency planning zones (EPZs) serve as vital geographic framework within nuclear emergency preparedness and response (EPR) strategies, facilitating the swift implementation of protective measures across varying levels urgency during emergencies. Over years, nations have undergone thorough reassessments these zones, in light evolving evaluation methods, reactor technology, lessons learned from accidents, leading to refinement methodologies for delineating EPZ distances. Abstract India’s expanding nuclear energy program and the increased use of radiation technologies are essential for fulfilling its needs delivering societal benefits. However, this growth also heightens risk hazards, necessitating a robust emergency response system. Currently, Department Atomic Energy operates 25 Radiation Emergency Response Centers (RERCs) across country, which provide technical support to responder agencies during radiological emergencies at both facilities in public...
