최근 스마트 워치의 상용화가 이루어지면서 글로벌 제조사들의 치열한 경쟁이 시작되는 구도에 있다. 본 연구는 잠재소비자의 워치 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 도출하기 위하여 기술수용모델(TAM)을 활용하였다. TAM에 개인과 기기특성으로 분류하여 외생변수를 설정하였다. 선행연구를 통해 개인특성은 사회적 이미지와 혁신성, 비용합리성을 선정하였고, 기기특성은 기능성과 심미성, 착용성을 선정하였다. 설계한 연구모형을 토대로 설문조사를 수집한 최종 201부의 응답결과를 확증적 요인분석과 구조방정식 모형분석을 실증분석하였다. 시장이 초기 단계인 상황에서 잠재적 소비자들이 워치를 사용하는데 어떤 영향요인이 작용하는지에 대한 연구로서 학술적, 실용적 가치를 가진다.
