A determination of the Planck constant h using LNE Kibble balance in air was carried out spring 2017. Substantial improvements since 2014, chiefly related to mass standard, mechanical alignments, voltage measurements and type evaluation uncertainties, leads a value 6.626 070 41(38) × 10–34 J · s, with relative standard uncertainty 5.7 10–8.
After separate developments of the different elements with continuous characterizations and improvements, LNE watt balance has been assembled. This paper describes system in detail gives its first measurements Planck's constant h. The value determined air is h = 6.626 068 8(20) × 10−34 Js which differs relative terms by −0.05 10−7 from h90 −1.1 that 2010 CODATA adjustment standard uncertainty associated 3.1 10−7.
Main text This report describes the second CCM key comparison of realizations kilogram definition based on fixed numerical value Planck constant, which came into force 20 May 2019. The objectives were to determine level agreement between using Kibble and joule balances x-ray crystal density (XRCD) method provide input for calculation "consensus value" kilogram. consensus serves as basis an internationally coordinated dissemination is updated after each new comparison. Its use will continue...
The definition of the kilogram in International System Units (SI) is expected to be revised 2018. present kilogram, mass Prototype Kilogram (IPK), adopted 1889, would then replaced by a based on fixed numerical value Planck constant. Consultative Committee for Mass and Related Quantities has requested that, as one essential steps before redefinition, comparison realizations future realization methods, Kibble9 balances x-ray crystal density (XRCD) experiments, organized.
This paper deals with the design of five-phase permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) exploiting third harmonic for torque generation. Through optimization stator size and rotor structure, objective functions related to mass electric losses are minimized a targeted electromagnetic power (10 kW 400 rpm) given volume. The study takes into account saturation, thermal, electrical mechanical constraints. On that note, 1D analytical magnetic model, considering existence use harmonic, is...
This paper describes the mechanical and electrical modifications carried out on LNE watt balance to reduce noise level associated with static phase. The improvements concern home-made beam using flexure hinges as pivots of force comparator. involve source used servo-control equilibrium position during All these have led a significant improvement repeatability reproducibility results phase measurements.

Relaxation phenomena of positive charges, created in a metal–oxide–silicon capacitor by bidirectional Fowler–Nordheim electron injections under constant current, have been studied and their kinetics quantitatively characterized. After creation, charges are neutralized at current. The gate bias shift caused the neutralization process has an exponential dependence on time during relaxation irrespective stress field polarity duration. Analysis data assuming nonelectron detrapping gives capture...
High electric-field stresses were performed in polycrystalline silicon gate metal-oxide-semiconductor devices (capacitors and transistors) defect generation was studied as a function of injecting electron densities for polarities different high electric fields. This work oxide thicknesses technologies. The results show that the interface states generated during injections from silicon-substrate saturate. However, they present no saturation when created gate. Our amount this asymmetry depends...
The value of the Planck constant h was determined in 2014 by means LNE watt balance experiment. relative standard uncertainty 31 parts 108. This first determination performed air with a 500 g mass made from XSH Alacrite. main components associated involve calibration, stability, buoyancy correction and magnetic interaction correction. combined due to is 7.2 use 2016 platinum iridium alloy significantly reduces component arising for measurement either or under vacuum. this contribution...
Efficient operation is a recommended factor in most of industrial applications. In this paper, an indirect matrix converter (IMC) topology developed and proposed to substitute the classical (AC/DC/AC) three phase topologies; where control strategy frequently performed with voltage source inverter (VSI). Large electrolytic capacitors are viewed as hazardous due their short lifetime compared ordinary power switches, well contribution total bulk weight converter. Matrix converters may be answer...
Tunneling Fowler–Nordheim bidirectional electron injections were performed on a metal–oxide–silicon capacitor under constant voltage, and the study of generated defects behavior was investigated. It found that within oxide are same physical nature mainly composed neutral traps. The charge discharge these traps depend field polarity. At oxide–silicon interface, saturation interface state generation is maintained by alternate change stress This linked to Si−δ–H+δ or other Si−δ–A+δ polar bonds...
This paper describes the main improvements on LNE Kibble balance in order to eliminate significant mechanical problems which prevent measurements under vacuum conditions: they will allow kilogram realizations some months.
UV scanning photoluminescence spectroscopy is applied to 4H-SiC epitaxy characterization. In a first part, the technique used for triangular defects The results show that two kinds of are present. Some inclusion cubic SiC which confirmed by Raman spectroscopy. other ones consist staking faults different thicknesses acting as quantum wells. second effective lifetime profile mapped whole 50 mm using variation room temperature PL intensity versus excitation intensity.
Bidirectional electron injections were performed in thick and thin oxides of metal–oxide–silicon capacitors under a constant oxide electric field. Results show that dissymmetry, due to trapping near both interfaces, is accentuated when the thin. However more marked thick. Two kinds used: wet dry technologies. Wet contains relatively defects than dry. This hydrogen incorporation during oxidation process. But this difference not well marked, because boron atoms injected after process would...
Bidirectional electron injections are made on metal–oxide–silicon capacitors under constant currents or voltages. It is shown that both stresses reveal the same generation mechanism of oxide defects and consequently confirm gate/oxide interface more stress resistant than oxide/silicon interface. also created positive charge unstable during bidirectional stress. We characterize this instability by studying dielectric defect neutralization following a new procedure. Oxide field intensity...
